You can either make paper crafts or use a prop for a home movie.Making a paper iPhone is an easy paper craft project, and you can even embellish it to make it look more realistic.
Step 1: Find the correct template.
You can use an online image search to find the type of iPhone you want.Since different generations of iPhones have different dimensions, you will want to do a search for the specific generation you want.If you search for the generation you want with paper craft in the search bar, you should get several results that are to the right scale.
Step 2: The paper craft template can be printed.
Print your template with a high-quality printer.Glossy photo paper is going to give you a better result than plain printer paper.
Step 3: The template should be cut out.
The lines around the template are what you need to cut it.The screen, back, and sides of the phone should be removed from the piece of paper.Don't cut the pieces together. You will need to cut the template out as one piece rather than cutting out the screen, back, etc., because you will make folds in the paper to form the shape of the iPhone.
Step 4: The template should be folded into the shape you want.
The phone should be folded 90 degrees on each side. The shape of the phone will be given by this. There are small tabs on the outside edge of the phone. You will glue the folds together when you worry about those.
Step 5: Take a piece of cardboard and trace the shape of the phone.
Before you glue the phone together, you should place a piece of cardboard inside the template. You can start by tracing the screen size on a piece of cardboard. If you want to make a sturdy prop, you can always use plywood instead of cardboard.
Step 6: Cut the cardboard in half.
Cut out a piece of cardboard after you have traced the design. It is important to make straight cuts so that the paper doesn't misshape when you put it inside. You may need two or three pieces of cardboard to get the thickness you want.Line all of them up and glue them together if this is the case.
Step 7: The cardboard should be inside the template.
Place the cardboard between the front and back of the template once you have it to the right thickness. To glue the cardboard to the screen and back, use a small amount of glue from a stick. The folded template should be the same size as the cardboard, but even a small amount of slippage can bulge the paper or cause it to crease.
Step 8: Attach the rest of the phone to the tabs.
Attach the glue stick to the tabs on the template to finish assembling the phone. It will be as easy as sliding the tab under the template, lining it up, and holding it for a moment to dry.The tabs can be stuck into the paper craft templates to help hold the finished product together.
Step 9: There is a thin, clear piece of plastic.
A clear piece of plastic on the screen will give it a glossy look. The piece of plastic has a screen size on it.The piece of plastic should be thin. The type of plastic that libraries use as jacket covers on hardback books is perfect; however, do not vandalize a library book.If you ask nicely, they could give you one or another similar material.
Step 10: The plastic on the screen cover needs to be removed.
You can't see the lines you drew on the material if you cut very straight and inside the line where you traced the image.Since screen covers are usually a tiny bit smaller, don't worry if this makes the screen cover very slightly smaller than the iPhone.
Step 11: Cut a small circle from the bottom with a craft knife.
The Home button at the bottom of the screen is not always straight. You can give the space a stronger illusion of depth by cutting a small circle out of the plastic that holds the Home button. You can cut out the circle with a craft knife because you don't have to cut all the way to the edge of the plastic.
Step 12: Attach with tape.
Attach the screen cover to the phone with a small piece of clear double-sided tape. You won't be able to see the tape with the gloss from the piece of plastic. The tape will be more difficult to see if you print the template on glossy photo paper.
