How To Make a Water Bottle Cap Pop off with Air Pressure
You can shoot the cap of the bottle across the room with an empty plastic bottle and air pressure.Don't aim the bottle at anyone because the cap can come off with force.Air pressure builds when gas isCompressing the gas inside the bottle and forcing it into a smaller space causes the air pressure to build. This pressure is unleashed when the cap is released and it launches across the room.
Step 1: There is an empty plastic bottle.
The experiment works best with a bottle that is relatively thin.thicker plastic bottles will be hard to use because you need to be able to twist them. You want to use a larger bottle than the miniature ones.If you leave a small amount of water in the bottom of the bottle, there will be a cloud of mist at the end.Smaller bottles work better.
Step 2: The bottle has a label.
This step can make it easier to twist the bottle for the experiment. When you're done with the experiment, recycle the label.
Step 3: To twist the bottle, squeeze it in the middle.
In order to build up the air pressure inside the bottle, you need to decrease the amount of space available by crushing it.Take the middle of the bottle and twist it.It can be hard to start the twist. It can be easier if the bottle is slightly deflated.Remove the cap, squeeze the bottle a bit and replace it with something else. Before starting this step, make sure the cap is fastened tightly to the bottle.
Step 4: The bottle should be twisted about 4 to 6 times.
The bottle will become more difficult as you twist it.You have to twist the bottle as many times as you can.If you don't have the strength to do it, ask for help. The bottle should be pointed away from your face.It is possible that the bottle will pop during this step.
Step 5: With your thumb, twist the cap.
The cap of the bottle is facing away from you.You can quickly twist the cap off by using the side of your thumb. If the cap won't pop out, make sure you fully twist it off.The cap should fly across the room if it is successful. To pop the cap off, hold the bottle between your legs and twist it with your hand. There wasn't enough air pressure built up inside the bottle if the cap did not fly across the room.Blow into the bottle and try again.
Step 6: The water is moving.
There is a cloud of white Vapor coming out of the bottle when the cap goes off.Water is formed when the cap is released. The water gets squeezed together as the pressure builds inside the bottle. The temperature inside the bottle cools when the cap goes off. This is how clouds form. The water vapor forms around the dust particles.
Step 7: The bottle should not be twisted.
You can keep doing it until you get bored.Don't twist the bottle until it's back to its original shape. The bottle will be slightly crunched but it will still work. The experiment won't work if the plastic in the bottle cracks.
Step 8: The bottle can be filled with air.
Place your mouth around the bottle and blow it up.As the plastic inflates, you will hear a crackling sound. It doesn't need to be completely full, it just needs enough air inside.People should not share bottles with other people.
Step 9: Take the bottle and twist it.
Take the lid off the bottle and squeeze in the middle. When you can't twist the bottle anymore, repeat the same steps. The more twists you can get, the more pressure will build up inside the bottle. You should be able to twist the bottle more often. You won't be able to use that bottle anymore if the plastic cracks.
Step 10: The cap must be launched across the room.
The bottle should be placed against your chest with the cap facing away from you.As the air pressure is released, watch it shoot across the room again. If you want, you can repeat as many times as you like.Don't aim the bottle at a person or animal. You shouldn't point the bottle at your face.
