Almost every piece of music in the world can be found on YouTube, most of it uploaded by fans across the globe with simple pictures as accompaniment. You only need pictures, a music file, and a simple video editing software to make a video.
Step 1: If you want to make a video, pick a song.
You need to have a copy of the song on your computer in order to make a video. If you don't have a music file, you can buy it or download it.
Step 2: What kind of pictures do you want to include?
Images that relate to the words currently being sung include album artwork, shots of the band playing music, hanging out, and at live shows. As they're sung in certain moments, you can choose to put lyrics up.You should think about what the song says to you and how you want to portray it when you put up a series of pictures. The most popular videos have photos that fit with the music being played.Think of a story that you want to tell. You can use pictures from your life.It is illegal to profit off of someone else's work, so you cannot charge people for a music video unless the pictures and song are your own.
Step 3: There is a dedicated folder for all of the photos.
You can make a music video folder on your computer.Pull the photos into this folder when you find them.In the future, your life will be much easier if everything is in the same place.Stock photography sites are good places to find photos. You own your own collections. There are online image searches. There is a musician's photo page.
Step 4: To import your song, open a video editing program.
You can use almost any video editing software you want, from Windows MovieMaker and iMovie to Final Cut, as these videos are simple and can be handled by most software. The most recent version of Powerpoint can be used to save presentations as movies. To determine the length of your video, click and drag your song into the timeline.
Step 5: Next to the song, click and drag all of your photos onto the timeline.
The process for each program is slightly different, but you should end up with each photo on your editing timeline. The beginning of the song should be lined up with the first shot. You can drag the files from your folder to the editing program. If this doesn't work, you can try "File" and find the photos. After they are imported into the video work station, click and drag them.
Step 6: Divide the number of seconds in the song by the amount of photos you have to take to decide how long each shot should be.
If you want to determine the number of seconds, you have to add the leftover seconds.160 seconds is the length of a 2:40 long song.To determine the total length of each shot, divide the number by your photos. If you had 80 photos for a 160 second song, you'd need each photo to last for two seconds to fit the whole video. If you want some photos to go longer, you can use this as a guideline. Then adjust individual photos by hand with the appropriate number of seconds per photo.
Step 7: Set the length to fit your video and highlight your photos.
Click on the photos using either dragging and highlighting or Shift+Click.Click on them and then choose "Set Length of Clips."If you tested earlier, choose the right amount of time for your video. It won't be labeled as "Set Length of Clips," but it will be the same."Duration," "Clip Length," or "clip timing" are some other possibilities. You can change the duration of all stills in "Preferences" in some programs.Set "Duration of Stills" to the length you want.
Step 8: Your final video can be saved as an mp4 or mp3 file.
Once you've finished your video, click on Save As or Export and choose the file you want to save. They don't take up a lot of space on your computer, and are the easiest to get onto. When you convert a video project to a full movie, you call it exporting. You'll need to export if you don't get an option under "Save As."
Step 9: The video can be uploaded on YouTube.
You will have to make an account. To put your video up on the internet, you have to click on "Upload".To help viewers find you, choose a good thumbnail of the song or band, and include the artist in the title. There is a chance that your video will be taken down if you are not the owner of the rights to the song. You can have a few strikes before losing your privileges.
