Apples and oranges can be used to make a juice. It is possible to make juice using a juicer. If you don't have a juicer, you can make juice with a blender and strainer. It's a good idea to avoid drinking juice as it doesn't provide as much nutrition as whole fruits and vegetables.
Step 1: The apple should be cut.
The apple should be sliced into small sections. You don't want to end up with seeds in your apple slices if you cut the apple far from the core.If you see seeds, remove them from the slices.Throw the apple core away when you're done because you won't be using it in apple juice. If you don't want to peel the apple, it has some fiber in it.With the skin still on, your juice will taste just as good.
Step 2: The oranges should be broken into segments.
The skin from oranges should be removed first. You can pull the oranges apart with your fingers. It's usually not necessary to use a knife to cut oranges.
Step 3: Pick up the juice from the produce through the juicer.
How you do this depends on your juicer. You put a cup or pitcher down where the juice comes out.You will collect the juice from the fruit when you feed it into the machine. The order does not matter. The apples or oranges can be put first. You can mix the apple and orange juices with a spoon once you've collected them.
Step 4: If you want, add honey.
If the juice isn't sweet enough for you, add some honey.Remember, honey contains sugar.Don't add extra honey if you're watching your sugar intake. If you don't like sweet foods, try adding a small amount of honey and tasting the juice. If you want it to be sweeter, add more.
Step 5: Cut apples and oranges.
Cut the apples in half.Remove any seeds from the segments.Take the oranges and divide them into sections.Cut your fruit into smaller pieces if you're using a weak blender. If you don't want to peel apples, you can.
Step 6: Water should be added to the blender.
If you're working with larger fruit, you should add around 1/2 a cup of water.A cup of water is required for larger pieces of fruit. If you want your juice to be cold, use cold water.Cold tap water can be used in your fridge.
Step 7: Continue to blend until it is smooth.
Go to its highest setting.Use this if you have a "liquify" setting. You should blend your juice until it is smooth and liquid-like.The strength of your blenders will determine how long it will take.A longer period of time will be taken by stronger blenders. You're trying to make a puree instead of juice.Pure juice won't be produced by a strong blender.Don't worry, if there are still bits of pulp in your mix, you will be straining your mixture.
Step 8: Put the juice in a container.
A mesh strainer is needed to hold your juice. The mixture should be put into the strainer.Take a spatula.Press down on the mixture to squeeze out all the juice.Throw the pulp away when you're done.
Step 9: If you wish, add honey.
Add some honey to your juice if it isn't as sweet as you want. There is a lot of sugar in honey. If you're watching your sugar intake, add a small amount of honey or skip it.
Step 10: You don't want to make juice a staple of your diet.
Whole fruit has the same vitamins and minerals as juice does. You end up with more sugar than you should when you strain your fruits because a lot of fiber is removed.Don't rely on juice as a source of fruits in your diet, because it can be a great treat once in awhile. You need to eat whole fruit each day.
Step 11: If you have diabetes, talk to your doctor about juice.
It's important to be careful with your sugar intake if you have diabetes.A lot of the fiber from fruit is lost in the juicing process. It's a good idea to talk to your doctor about how much juice you should be drinking.Ask your doctor how much juice is safe for you.A staple of your diet, juice should be more of an occasional treat.
Step 12: Before you juice your fruit, wash it.
If you don't peel apples before adding them to your mix, it's important. Before washing your fruit, you should wash your hands with soap and water.Put your fruit under the faucet.Allow water to flow over it, and turn the fruit to wash the full surface.Rub the fruit with any dirt or debris you see.
