How To Make Homemade Honeycomb Shelves

The honeycomb shelves add interest to any room.These shelves can be made with the right materials, tools and safety gear.

Step 1: The angles should be cut at 30 degrees.

Step 2: Cut wood.

Measure the long edge of your first plank of wood by cutting it in half.Measure with a pencil.You will make your next cut here.The second cut should be along the edge you marked.A piece of wood has been cut.For the rest of the planks, repeat this process.You should be able to cut 15 pieces of wood.

Step 3: Make sure you have 15 pieces of evenly cut wood to create the honeycomb hexagon.

Before drilling, lay out hexagon.Stand pieces of wood on their side and make a hexagonal shape.The best way to get the best results is to start with the honeycomb base.If you like the way the shelf looks, glue the sides together with wood glue.Hold together for a while.Before drilling holes, drill sides together.Use your electric drill to add screws.You should start at the base and work your way outward.

Step 4: The shelf can be built with the next set of wood plank.

Make sure the sides line up with each other by joining the hexagons on the floor.Attach wood glue to the exterior sides of the shelf.Sand the entire shelf.

Step 5: Wall brackets are used to mount a shelf.

Make sure you have a base for your shelf.
