How to make ice packs for a cooler with pipe and plastic

Food and drinks should be kept chilled when camping, tailgating or going on a picnic.Instead of using ice, you can make your own ice packs using a pipe. You can personalize the ice packs with your own signature style, such as your favorite team colors.

Measure the inside of your cooler to see how long the ice pack is.To make room for the end caps, subtract 3 inches from the measurement.

Use a chop saw or a cutter to cut your pipe.We cut pieces for a large cooler and a smaller backpack cooler.

The end caps should be used to seal off one end of the piece.Apply a liberal amount of cement to the inside and outside of the cap.Push the end cap firmly onto the pipe, and use a damp paper towel or rag to clean up any cement that may have seeped out.Allow the cement to dry for one hour.
