How To Make Spring Flower Yarn Art

Pumpkin carving and paper snowflakes can be done in the winter.During the springtime, Easter eggs are popular, but not everyone celebrates.Spring flower yarn art is one of the projects that you can do.You can make all sorts of flower art with a bit of yarn.

Step 1: A flower shape can be drawn on a sheet of colored paper.

You can do any flower you want.Buttercups and tulips are great, but you can also do a simple 5-petal flower.Adding a center, stem, and leaves to the flower is possible.Draw lightly with a pencil. The mark will be less noticeable this way.The best paper is thick.

Step 2: White school glue can be applied to your first flower.

Take a swirl of glue and blend it with the tip.You can apply the glue with a brush, but make sure to apply it thickly.Don't go outside the lines if you fill the petal completely.

Step 3: Glue the yarn into it's desired color.

Work your way outward from the center. It's necessary to add more glue. When you reach the outer edge of the petals, cut the yarn and press the end down.If you are doing a tulip, use tear-drop shapes.Medium-weight yarn will work best for this.

Step 4: The yarn should be Glued to the rest of the flower.

Don't work more than one at a time.Go to the center with yellow yarn. You can use orange, brown, or black for the center if your flower is already yellow. If you don't work one at a time, the glue will dry too fast.

Step 5: If you want, add a stem and leaves.

Draw a line of glue from the bottom of the flower down to the paper's edge.Cut off the excess glue after pressing a strand of green yarn.If you add leaves, fill them with more glue.Follow the shape of the leaves.

Step 6: The glue should be allowed to dry.

You can display your project once the glue is dry.

Step 7: A sheet of white paper is used to draw a flower outline.

A tulip or a 5-petal flower is a simple shape.Posters or watercolor paper can be used if you don't have any paper. The flower should be the size of your hand. The paper should be cut into a square shape. It will look better in the end.Don't draw the center of the flower.

Step 8: You can punch holes with a needle.

Keep the holes close together.Make sure they are close together.Put something soft under the paper, such as a piece of corrugated cardboard or a sheet of craft foam.

Step 9: Tie a knot at the end of the large needle with yarn.

You can use any needle that has a large opening. The yarn should be bright and pretty. It can be either solid colored or tie dyed.Cut a piece of yarn from your hand.It will be simpler to work with.Fine to medium-weight yarn can be used.

Step 10: The flower should be sewn from the back of the paper.

If you don't flip the paper first, you'll be able to see the lines that you drew.Go through the back of the hole and out the front.Pull the yarn against the paper.

Step 11: Go through the opposite hole with the needle.

There is a line of yarn going across the flower.

Step 12: Continue sewing until you fill all the holes.

Cross the lines that are parallel to each other. The flower will become more colorful as you sew it.Attach the old piece to the back of the paper if you run out of yarn.Continue sewing after cutting and knotting a new piece.

Step 13: Attach the end of the thread to the paper.

Remove the needle from the back of the paper by pulling it down through the last hole.Cut off the excess yarn by tying a knot. The yarn's tail end should be taped down.

Step 14: Attach a pompom or button to the flower.

You can either use a regular pompom or make your own.You can use a large button. For a fancy flower, you could use a large piece of jewelry.Attach your desired item to the center of the flower.Hot glue or tacky glue is the best for this.

Step 15: If you want, you can glue the flower to a larger sheet of paper.

Cut a sheet of colored paper that's 2 inches taller than the project you're working on.Attach the back of your project with glue, then press it onto the center of the colored paper. You will have a colorful frame for your project.

Step 16: A flower is drawn on a wooden board with a pencil.

There is 12 to 1 inch between the flower and the edges of the board. The board can be any size, but it needs to be at least 10 by 5 inches. The board should be at least 12 inch thick. It will be easier to work with a soft wood. You can add a circle for the center of the flower.Adding a set of leaves is also possible.

Step 17: Right over the lines that you draw, hammer nails halfway into the board.

Start with the circle center if you added it.The outline of the flower should be done last. You can pound the nails into the board with a hammer. The spaces should be 12 to 34 inch (1.27 to 1.91 centimeters) apart.Don't pound the nails all the way into the board.About halfway you should pound them.Younger children may need help.

Step 18: Tie a piece of yarn to a nail on a flower.

Red, pink, purple, and blue are some of the colors that would look nice on a flower.Fine or medium-weight yarn can be used.

Step 19: There is a nail on the opposite side of the flower.

Wrap the yarn around the flower if you added a center. When the flower is filled, keep crossing the yarn from nail to nail. You don't have to cross the yarn to the other nail every time; you can cross it over the third nail.

Step 20: The outline can be created by weaving the yarn around the nails.

Pull the yarn through the nails until you reach where you started. If you want a thicker outline, you have to do it under and over the flower.

Step 21: Cut the yarn by knot.

Once you are happy with your flower, wrap the yarn around the nail a few times, then tie it in a double knot.Cut off the yarn.

Step 22: If you added the center and leaves, you should do it.

For the center and leaves, use yellow and green.Use orange, brown, or black yarn for the center of your flower. When you are done, cut off the tails and outline the center and leaves.
