The appearance of your features can be defined by your face shape. It's easy to do on your own with the right products and equipment, but it was popularized by celebrity makeup artists. If you blend well after applying your makeup, you will have a flawless, natural look.
Step 1: The foundation color of your skin is the first thing you should start with.
If you use the same color foundation as your skin, it will give you a base you can build upon when using your lightest and darkest shades. It's more difficult to make your face look better without first applying a foundation.Your face could end up looking patchy.Rather than mixing the two, use a foundation composed of the same material as the other products you'll be using.A caked-on look can result from mixing textures. The finishing layer of powder is the only exception.Matching your foundation to the skin on your neck will help you figure out what color to get.Matching your foundation to your neck will make sure your face doesn't end up looking darker when you're done.
Step 2: It's better to get a foundation a few shades lighter.
There are highlighting and shading places that you want to stand out.You need a foundation that's about two shades darker than your base foundation for your highlighting product.Your makeup won't look natural if you go lighter than two shades. In place of foundation, you can use a lighter eye shadow.
Step 3: A foundation with a few shades darker than your skin is a good choice.
The parts of your face that draw attention away from you will be shade by the darker tone. You will be creating shadows that will make your face appear sharper. If you go darker than two shades below your normal skin tone, your makeup won't look natural.Bronzer, darker eye shadow or darker concealer work as well as foundation.Don't mix the two, make sure your products are either cream or powder.
Step 4: You should get a good brush.
It's important to get a good brush since your face will be different.Your makeup will look unnatural if the colors aren't well blended.A big brush or bushy brush is what you want. You can leave the finish with one with natural bristles. If you don't have a brush, you can use your fingers. The warmth from your fingers will help the makeup blend. It's useful when you're working with the cream foundation.
Step 5: Pull your hair out of your face.
The makeup reaches up to your head at the top of your forehead, past your temples and down your face.If you remove your hair from your face, you will be able to see what you're doing.
Step 6: Prepare your face.
You want to start with a blank canvas.Remove your makeup, wash your face, and pat it dry with a towel. If you need to remove dead skin, Exfoliate. It's a good idea to let your moisturizers soak in for a while before applying your makeup. If you want a smooth, flawless finish, prepping is essential. You don't want to look dirty or have a makeup smudge when you're not using it.
Step 7: You should apply foundation to your regular skin tone.
Use your fingers or a foundation brush to apply a light layer of your normal foundation all over your face, stretching from your forehead to your chin. There isn't a line between your face and neck if you blend your foundation under your chin and around your neck.At this stage, you may want to apply concealer as well.Don't forget to focus on under-eye circles.
Step 8: The lighter foundation should be applied.
If you have normal skin tone, take the foundation that is a few shades lighter.Use your finger or a clean foundation brush to apply a 1/2 inch to 1 inch stroke of foundation to the places on your face where the sun would naturally hit.To figure out where the sun would hit, stand in a well-lit room with overhead lighting and look at where it hits your face.Light foundation can be applied in the center of your forehead.Along the top of your head.Along the bridge of your nose.To find the apples of your cheeks. The section between your nose and lip is on your cupid's bow.Your chin is in the center.
Step 9: The dark foundation needs to be applied.
Go from your forehead to your chin with a 3 in the shape of your face.Your face would be shadowed from the sun.Below the top of your forehead is where you want to apply the dark foundation. On the right and left sides of your head, near your hair.On the right and left sides of your nose.To find them, suck your cheeks in.You can see from your ears to the tip of your chin.
Step 10: Make sure you blend your makeup.
You can blend the colors with your fingers or foundation brush.Don't spread the colors around too much, you want them to stay in the general area where you placed them. There are no sharp divisions between the lighter and darker foundation if the edges are blended well.
Step 11: Adding highlighter is a good idea.
Adding a product to highlight the light areas will make them stand out even more.It catches the light more than regular foundation because it is shimmery.Where you applied the lighter foundation, apply it in the exact same places.
Step 12: Apply blush.
If you feel that your face doesn't look right without some pink color, apply a small amount of blush to the apples of your cheeks. You should blend the blush with the other products on your face.
Step 13: Use a matt setting powder.
When your products are cream-based, setting powder is helpful. It helps to keep everything in place. You can add a light coating of setting powder to your face with a clean powder brush.
Step 14: For a night out, add shimmer.
If you're going out on the town, you might want to add some shimmer and shine.Choose a shimmery, translucent face powder and apply a light layer to your face, focusing on the highlighted areas. It's a good idea to apply a bit to your neck and chest as well.
Step 15: For the last time, save your eye and lip makeup.
Before applying eye and lip makeup, make sure everything is completely blended and set. It's a bold look, so you may want to choose a bright lip or heavy eye makeup, but not both.
