Microsuede is a dense and tightly woven fabric. It is a great choice for clothing, curtains, towels, furniture, and even shoes because of it's soft but durable nature.Microsuede is cheaper than suede and leather, and a suitable non- animal alternative, because it is human-made.Microsuede is water resistant, easy to clean, and can be used with a number of cleaning products without damaging the cloth, but alcohol is generally all you need.
Step 1: Take a look at the labels.
You can often find a code that tells you how to clean your furniture upholstery.Microsuede usually has one of three labels: W, which means wash with water-based cleaners.S means wash with solvent-based cleaners.SW means you can use either water or solvent-based cleaners.
Step 2: Pick out your cleaning equipment.
isopropyl alcohol or another clear alcohol will be your main cleaning agent. If your furniture has a W or SW code, you can use a solution made of water and soap.Alcohol is recommended since it dries quickly.Along with your cleaning agent, you need a clean, empty spray bottle, white or undyed sponge, towel, or cloth that is both clean and dry.
Step 3: The furniture should be vacuumed.
Remove the cushions and use a soft brush attachment to clean up the mess.Pick up debris with your hands. If you want to vacuum the cushions, be sure to get into all the nooks and cracks.
Step 4: Put your cleaner in the spray bottle.
Use alcohol for any furniture, or if you prefer, mix about one-half ounce of mild liquid soap or detergent with 33 ounces of water. It's time to shake well.
Step 5: Take a look at the furniture.
If you want to do a test patch with your cleaning agent, you have to find an out of sight area.To apply alcohol or soap solution to a small spot, rub it with a clean cloth and let it dry. After an hour or so, check to see if the cleaner has caused any changes to the texture or color of the fabric.
Step 6: The furniture needs to be cleaned.
If you want to prevent watermarks, spray a small area or a single stain with a minimal amount of cleaner. To clean the area, use a clean cloth or sponge. You don't want to spread dirt around by rotating your cloth.Work in small patches or tackle one stain at a time until the entire piece is clean. The cushions need to be cleaned as well.If you find areas that are stubborn, try rubbing them with a toothbrush.
Step 7: Allow the furniture to dry.
If you want to ensure that your microsuede is dry in no time, you can use alcohol or minimal amounts of water.
Step 8: The fabric should be brushed.
When it is cleaned, microsuede can become stiff. To buff the fabric back to its soft state, gently buff it with a soft-bristled brush. When you are done, return the cushions to the furniture.
Step 9: Keep your furniture clean.
If your furniture gets a lot of use, you should vacuum it every week.To prevent staining, deal with spills immediately.Microsuede is designed to repel liquids, so spills will bead on the fabric, giving you time to clean them up with a clean cloth. If you don't notice a spill right away, deal with stains as soon as you spot them using the same cleaning process.Put a small amount of alcohol on the area and wipe it off with a cloth.
Step 10: Clean stains.
Microsuede is used in many items, including clothing, towels, drapes, and mops.Hand washing is recommended. If you use a spray bottle filled with alcohol or a cleaner, you can stain areas with a clean cloth. All tag directions regarding proper washing instructions should always be read before cleaning any fabric. Before applying any cleaning solution to the entire cloth, you need to perform a small test patch on the fabric.
Step 11: The sink should be filled with warm water.
Depending on how many items you'll be washing, you only need the sink to be half full. When the water is running, mix in half to one ounce of liquid laundry detergent or mild soap. You should wash your items one at a time. The brush is soft andbristled. You can wash microsuede items in the washing machine.Microsuede tends to collect lint from other fabrics.Do not use bleach products on microsuede.
Step 12: The items need to be dry.
When your items are clean, squeeze them to get out of the water.A clean, dry towel can be put on a counter or table. On top of the towel lay a microsuede item.Roll the towel tightly with the item inside. To dry the item, unroll the towel and hang it.If necessary, replace the towel with a dry one.It is best to hang microsuede fabric on a clothesline if you want to use a dryer on low heat or no heat.
Step 13: The dirt needs to be brushed off.
Use a soft bristled brush to get rid of dirt, mud, and other particles.
Step 14: The shoes should be sprayed with cleaner.
You can use alcohol or a soap-and-water solution.Use a toothbrush or soft-bristled brush to brush small areas at a time.
Step 15: Allow the shoes to dry.
If it is necessary to buff the fabric and restore the microsuede's soft texture, brush them with a dry, soft-bristled brush.
