As a MyPillow user, you may be wondering how to properly care for your pillow.Follow the care instructions you were given with the product. It is recommended that you wash your MyPillow on a regular cycle with cold or warm water and mild detergent before it is tumble-dried.You can run an extra spin cycle and balance out the load by following a few tricks. You will be able to sink your head into your pillow after you have laundered your MyPillow.
Step 1: It's a good idea to pour in a mild liquid laundry detergent.
Use a mild, high-efficiency liquid laundry detergent when washing MyPillow. If you use a laundry detergent bottle's cap as a measuring cup, fill it to below the "1 load" line.Add about 4 c of detergent. Before you insert your MyPillow, pour it into the machine. If you use powder detergent, don't use it on your pillow. When washing your MyPillow, don't use fabric softener.
Step 2: If you are using a front-loading machine, add the pillow to a full load of laundry.
A front-loading machine will prevent your pillow from floating on top of the water.Throw your pillow in with a load of white or light colored clothes if you use this type of machine. If you don't have any clothes to wash, try washing your pillow with a load of towels.
Step 3: To balance out the machine, use another pillow or a few towels.
Place the pillows on opposite sides of the machine.Drop 2 or 3 large towels onto the other side of your MyPillow if you don't have another pillow to wash.To avoid an unbalanced load, aim to provide an equal amount of material on either side.If you notice that the MyPillow starts floating on top of the water once the load starts, you can weigh the pillow down with a towel.
Step 4: The machine should be set for a regular cycle.
The MyPillow should be washed on the regular, normal, or cotton setting.Slow spin cycles and limited agitation will not clean your MyPillow as effectively as the faster regular cycle.
Step 5: The MyPillow should be washed in warm water.
Depending on the type of machine you are using, try either a warm or cold setting. If you want to clean your pillow more thoroughly or eliminate stains, choose a warm setting or a cold one.It is not recommended to use hot water to wash MyPillows.
Step 6: Extra spin cycles can be used to remove more of the water.
Adding more spin cycles will help you spin out more water from your MyPillow. You can either add an extra spin to the initial wash cycle or run a separate spin cycle after the first wash is done. You can use a shorter tumble-drying cycle since more of the foam will be drawn out.
Step 7: The dryer should be set to high heat.
High heat will dry your MyPillow more quickly than low heat.Selecting a high heat setting and running the dryer at a normal cycle is recommended by the manufacturers.
Step 8: No dryer balls are needed to dry your MyPillow.
When drying a MyPillow, it is not recommended to use dryer balls or tennis balls.Put your MyPillow in the dryer with any other pillows, towels, or clothing items from the previous load.Don't add fabric softener or dryer sheets to the load.
Step 9: The MyPillow should be kept in the dryer until it is completely dry.
Pull out your pillow and squeeze it to see if there are any damp patches.Throw the pillow back into the dryer for 10 to 15 more minutes if there are only a few small spots that contain some moist material. The pillow needs to be checked and dried until it is dry.Your MyPillow will not be damaged or melted by additional tumble-drying.
Step 10: The MyPillow should be put in the dryer with a damp cloth.
After you unpackage your new MyPillow, put it in a dryer with a damp, but not dripping, washcloth. Before using your pillow, run the machine at a high heat setting for 15 minutes. The inner foam filling is ready to sleep on because of the heat and humidity.
Step 11: Keep your pillow clean with a cotton pillowcase.
If you want to prevent sweat, oils, and cosmetics from transferring to the pillow itself, cover your MyPillow with a well-fitting pillowcase. The MyPillow should be used with a 100% cotton pillowcase.Put your pillowcase under at least once a week.
Step 12: Your MyPillow.
Take the ends or corners of the pillow.Push your fists towards each other. To fluff up the pillow even more, squeeze and punch it.To get the best support, tuck the bottom part of the pillow under your neck.
Step 13: Every 4 months, wash your MyPillow.
You can keep your MyPillow fresh by washing it once every 4 months or 3 times a year. You should wash it more frequently if you have allergies. The 10-year MyPillow warranty covers laundered pillows, so you don't have to worry about them going flat.
