pickle jars are the worst nightmare for a hungry person.Instead of giving up on your meal, try a few different jar opening methods.Whether the lid is too tightly sealed or stuck with food, any pickle jar can be opened with the right techniques.
Step 1: You can use this method to open jars.
There are many factors that can make a jar lid slippery. It is possible to easily get the jar lids unstuck. It may not be possible to use this technique on stubborn jars.
Step 2: The lid needs to be covered with a rough or clinging material.
You can drape a dish towel, plastic wrap, or rubber glove over the lid.Wrap the sides with a rubber band. The materials will help you pry the jar open.Use a dish towel to help grip the jar if it is slick on the glass sides.
Step 3: The jar should be opened.
Place your non-dominant hand on the jar's sides. With your dominant hand, twist the lid in a clockwise direction. The jar should open. The jar's airtight seal will need to be broken if not.If you can't open the jar on your own, have a friend hold the sides.
Step 4: The jar has something on it.
The jar should be placed on a hard surface.Next, hold the jar in your nondominant hand.Wrap the jar in a dish towel if it has a lot of condensation on it.It will be easier to insert the spoon if you have a secure grip.
Step 5: The spoon's tip should be moved underneath the lid.
To force the tip of the spoon between the lid and jar, use your dominant hand. The spoon should be facing away from the jar.The swell of the spoon will move the handle away from the jar.Try different places around the lid to get the spoon in.
Step 6: Press the spoon handle with care.
Press the handle of the spoon like a lever, and you will hear a soft sound. There is a sound between the jar and the lid.Don't press the spoon too hard if you want to bend it.
Step 7: The jar should be opened.
The jar should be easy to open now that the seal has been broken.Food may be stuck under the lid if not.If you want to open the jar, drape a rubber glove or dish towel over the lid.
Step 8: Put some duct tape over it.
Pull out a long section with a roll of duct tape. The section should be long enough to wrap around the lid.It is better to measure out too much than not at all. Most grocery stores and hardware supply stores sell duct tape.
Step 9: Attach a handle to the lid with duct tape.
Wrap the sticky side of duct tape around the sides and top of the lid in a clockwise direction. The extra duct tape should hang free if you wrap it halfway around the lid.The duct tape handle can be created by pressing the sticky parts of the tape together. If your jar has a lot of condensation, wipe it dry before applying duct tape.
Step 10: The handle needs to be pulled.
Place the jar firmly in your hand.Pull the handle with your dominant hand. The jar lid should be twisted in a clockwise direction by the force of your pull.Pull until the lid pops off.If the lid is stubborn, have a friend hold the jar while you pull the handle with both hands. To hold the jar steady, use a dishtowel.
Step 11: The water needs to be heated.
If you want the water to heat up, run the hot water tap in your sink. You can pour the water from the kettle into a bowl.Make sure the water is not boiling. You should be able to touch the water. You can break the glass of the jar if you don't.
Step 12: The hot water will warm the lid up.
The jar needs to be held under the hot water. If you use a bowl of hot water, place the jar upside-down in the bowl so that the lid is completely submerged.Allow the jar to heat up for a while. The metal of the lid will be expanded by the heat from the water.Run the jar under hot water to distribute the heat.
Step 13: The lid needs to be turned forcefully.
With your non-dominant hand, hold the jar steady. If the lid is too hot to handle, cover it with a dish towel.Use your dominant hand to twist the lid in a clockwise direction. If the lid is stuck, cover it with a rubber glove or a dish towel.Adding friction will help pry the lid loose.
