When you download an archive of your data, your file is either a ZIP or TGZ file.You can download multiple files in a single download with these types of files.The archive file can be decompressed using an application on your computer.You won't need to download anything special if it's a ZIP file.Things are a little more complex.If you're using a PC, you should have TGZ files.You can learn how to access the files you downloaded.
Step 1: Go to your computer and save your archive.
If you haven't already saved your data as an archive to your computer, you can do so at https://takeout.google.com.The file can be saved as a ZIP or TGZ file.If you choose the TGZ format, you'll need to complete some additional steps to open the ZIP files.Click the link in your email to start the download if you chose the option to have a download link sent to you.The download will be broken into multiple files if you save more than 50 gigabytes of data.If you want to download the file to your computer, you have to log into the service that saved it.
Step 2: It is possible to install software that can unpack your TGZ file.
If you've downloaded a file that ends with the.ZIP file extension, skip this step.If you want to unpack the file, 7-Zip is a great option.Click next to your version of Windows in the first section to get it.Click to let it run after you double-click the downloaded file.You can install the app by clicking.
Step 3: You can open the folder containing the downloaded archive.
Unless you choose another location, it will usually be in your Downloads folder.
Step 4: Click the file.
The archive's contents can be seen in this display.The contents of a.TGZ file will open in the 7-Zip app.
Step 5: Click to extract all or extract TGZ.
There is an option at the top of the window.
Step 6: Click Extract or OK to extract it.
The files are taken to a new folder.The folder will open and show the files inside.
Step 7: You can save your archive to your computer.
