Some Michigan residents can get Michigan eLibrary through their home library.Patrons can use MEL to order and borrow items.If the desired item is available, patrons can pick it up from their home library in about two or three weeks.You can learn how to reserve a book using the Michigan eLibrary.
Step 1: You can get a library card.
If you live in a city, make sure you have a library card that is in good standing.You have used the card recently if you have good standing.
Step 2: Go to your browser.
You can find it at http://elibrary.mel.org/search.If you don't know if your library is a participant, click on "Participating Libraries" on the Michigan eLibrary website.You can call your library if you want to see if they are participating.
Step 3: You can find the book by searching.
Select the type of information you want to look for from the drop down box.Click on the blue Find It! when you type in the information you have.There is a button.
Step 4: You can find the book you want to borrow.
You may need to scroll down the page to find what you're looking for.
Step 5: You should reserve the book.
Click the blue Get This for Me! button to find the book you're looking for.The button is next to the publication year.
Step 6: You need to confirm your library information.
Select your local library by clicking on the box.You can type your full name and card number in the appropriate fields.Click the button if you are done.
Step 7: Pick a spot.
Some libraries have different pickup locations.Click the blue button to reserve the book after selecting a pickup location.
