Modern people-on-the-go use headsets. You can make and receive calls without touching or holding a phone in your hand if you use a headset with your phone. It's a cinch to pair your phone with a headset if you have a compatible phone.
Step 1: You need to charge your headset.
The process won't be interrupted by a low battery if you start with a full charge on both devices.
Step 2: Put your headset in pairs mode.
The process is the same for all headsets, but there might be slight variations. To answer a call on most headsets, you need to start with the headset power off, then press and hold the multi-function button for a few seconds.First, a light will blink showing you that the unit is on, and a few seconds later, the headset will light up in different colors, but this can be anything. The blinking lights indicate that the headset is on.If your headset has a sliding on/off switch, you should slide it to the on position before pressing and holding the multi-function button.
Step 3: You should put your headset close to your phone.
The devices need to be close to each other.Keep the devices within 5 feet of each other for the best results.
Step 4: You can charge your phone.
Start with a full charge so that you don't drain your battery.
Step 5: Go to your phone and start it.
It is most likely that your phone was released after 2007.You will be all set if you can see a "Bluetooth" menu on any of the operating systems. If you tap the settings icon, you will see a menu item calledBluetooth. If you see it, your device is compatible. If it says off, you can turn it on.If you tap the settings icon in the app menu, you can look forBluetooth. If the word is on the menu, you can use it on your phone. You can open the menu with a tap and flip the switch to the on position. If you open the app list on a Windows phone, you'll be able to find theBluetooth menu.If you see a menu, your phone is compatible. If you open the menu, you can switch it on.If you are using a phone that isn't a mobile device, navigate to the settings menu to find theBluetooth menu. You can turn on the device in that menu.
Step 6: Scan from your phone.
If you enabled it on your phone, it will begin a search for devices to connect to.A list of devices you can connect to will appear on the screen when the search is over.Older models of feature phones may require you to manually check for devices. If there is an item on the menu that says "Scan for devices", you should tap it.If you don't see any devices, you may not be able to use your headset. You can restart your headset and re-enable it.To make sure your headset doesn't have a special process for pairing, double check the manual.
Step 7: You can pair your headset by selecting it.
The name of your headset can be found in the list of connectable devices. This could be the name of the headset manufacturer or it could simply be something like "Headset."
Step 8: If asked, give a PIN code.
The phone may ask for a PIN code when it finds the headset. If your headset doesn't work, try the last 4 digits of the serial number found underneath the battery. No code is required if your phone connects to the headset without a code.
Step 9: Click on it.
Confirmation on the phone can be seen once the headset and phone are PAIRED.The actual message depends on your device, so it should say something along those lines.
Step 10: Don't use hands-free phone calls.
