Parchment paper is a great item to have in your kitchen. It can be used on baking sheets, inside cake pans, and on other baking containers to act as a barrier between the dish and the food being cooked. It makes it easier to remove food from the dishes once it has been cooked.
Step 1: To make brownies and cakes, use parchment paper.
To fit a baking tray, you have to cut a piece of paper.Make it long enough so that the edges of the paper extend over the tray's lip.If you want to cover the edges of the tray, you have to cut a second piece of paper. The batter should be on top of the paper. When the brownies or cake are done cooking, you can easily remove the baked goods by lifting the paper from the tray. For a round cake tin, you should grease or butter the sides of the tin and cut a circle of paper for the bottom.Adding grease or cooking spray to the corners will keep the paper from slipping. The paper won't move when you add batter or cookies to it, because it will stick to the sheet or tray.
Step 2: You can keep your counter clean by decorating it.
Before you start, lay out the sauces or baked goods on the paper. After you have decorated things, throw away the paper.Put the paper on the baking sheet that has an edge around it.No matter what, the sprinkles will stay on the paper and the baking sheet.
Step 3: To keep cookies from sticking, Line a baking sheet.
Cut a piece of paper to fit the bottom of your baking sheet when you bake cookies.Place the cookies on the paper and cook them. The heat is distributed to the cookies more evenly, the bottoms are kept from burning, and cookies are not spread too wide as they bake.
Step 4: Put the squares in the muffin tins.
Cut out a square for each tin of muffins.Place a square into each tin, and then press them down with a thin glass, so that the bottom of the tin doesn't crease. The muffins should be cooked according to the recipe. When the muffins are done baking, you should be able to turn them out onto a clean linen towel and peel the parchment off of the bottoms.
Step 5: To decorate baked goods, fashion a pastry bag out of paper.
Roll a square of paper into a cone. You can decorate your baked goods by filling it with frosting, cutting off the end of the cone, and using a pair of scissors. When you don't have a real pastry bag, you can frost and decorate baked goods with the frosting from the paper bag.
Step 6: Roast vegetables.
Fruits like strawberries or tomatoes will have a great flavor and will be easy to clean up.You can layer fruits or veggies on top of the baking sheet with a piece of cut paper. When they are done, throw away the paper that was used to bake them. The acid from the fruits could react with the pan and cause damage.potatoes, beets, corn, and cauliflower are softer in aluminum foil than on parchment paper, which is why they cook better with it.
Step 7: Parchment paper is a good way to roast meat.
If you are cooking chicken, beef, or pork, you should cut out a sheet of paper to fit on the bottom of the baking sheet. If you want to cook it in the oven, place it on the baking sheet.Throw out the paper after you finish your meal.If you are roasting an entire chicken or turkey, use aluminum foil. The foil will keep the meat moist.
Step 8: Protect fish by cooking them on a sheet of paper.
The skin of the fish sticks to the pan when cooking on a baking sheet. The fish should be cooked on the sheet of paper. The paper should easily slide off when the fish is done. This is a great way to cook fish with its skin on.
Step 9: Specialty butters can be rolled in the paper.
A great gift is butter infused with herbs.Put the butter in the middle of the paper. You can use the paper to mold the butter into any shape you want, from a log to a round ball. This method can be used to roll out cookie dough.
Step 10: You can make a pouch for vegetables.
A 14 by 12 inch piece of paper is folded in half and cut into a heart shape.Put your veggies and fish in the middle of the paper. To create a seal over the vegetables, roll the edges of the paper up tightly. If you want to bake them, put the packet on the baking sheet. It can either create walls around the ingredients or come up over them. You should get steamed veggies and have little left to clean up.
Step 11: When making casseroles, line the dish with paper.
The edges of the paper on the baking dish should be slightly higher than the natural edge.To cover all sides of the dish, cut a second sheet of paper and lay it in the opposite direction. If you put the casserole inside the lined dish, bake it in the oven.Remove the casserole from the oven by grabbing the ends of the paper. It's easier to cut the casserole with this.Put it on top of the paper and then throw it away.
