How To Partition a Drive on Windows
You can learn how to partition a hard drive when you log into a Windows PC.
Step 1: Press Win+S.
This opens the search bar.
Step 2: You can type partition.
There is a list of search results.
Step 3: The hard disk partition can be created and format.
The Disk Management utility is opened.
Step 4: You can partition the drive by right-clicking it.
A menu will appear.
Step 5: Click Shrink Volume.
The Shrink tool can be used to reduce the size of a partition.
Step 6: The new partition should have a certain amount of space.
The amount of space to shrink in MB is entered.You need to enter the amount in MB.To create a 100 GB partition, you would need to type 102400.
Step 7: Click Shrink.
There is a new area at the bottom of the window called "Unallocated." It has a black bar at its top edge.
Step 8: Click the Unallocated box.
A menu will appear.
Step 9: Click for a new volume.
It is the first option in the menu.The New Simple Volume Wizard opens.
Step 10: Click next.
Step 11: Click Next if you want to select a partition size.
If it looks good to you, you can keep the default option.
Step 12: Click Next to select a new drive letter.
The new partition will be identified here.
Step 13: You can format the volume with the following settings.
You can type the volume name into the "Volume Label" field.If you are going to be using the partition for music, you may want to call it Music.
Step 14: Click next.
The hard drive will now be partitioned.You will see a message when the process is complete that says you have completed the New Simple Volume Wizard.
Step 15: Click Finish to finish.
You can use your new partition now.
