How To Play Wall Ball

You can play wall ball with a wall, a hard floor and a ball. While there are many variations you can make to the rules, the most important thing to remember is safety. Before using the wall of a house or building, try to find a secluded wall or get the permission of the owner. No matter how many players you have, always be safe and have fun.

Step 1: The ball should be thrown against the wall.

Decide who will start the game by finding a flat wall with no windows or a hard floor.Setting the parameters of the court can be accomplished by either marking lines or using ready made boundaries. The game starts when the first player serves the ball. The ball must bounce before it reaches the wall. You can play with 2 or more players at the same time. The order of players should be decided.Depending on the size of the court and the rules, players must decide how far they can stand from the wall before serving.Everyone must stand behind the throwing line prior to the first serve in line with the server according to some rules. The thrower must stand behind the line.Do not choose a wall that is close to items that you can damage, like windows or cars. It's a good idea to find a wall that has a decline in the ground towards the players.

Step 2: The next player should be given the ball.

As a receiving player, you should allow the ball to bounce once after hitting the wall. You can return the ball by hitting it with your hand and letting it hit the wall.Follow your instructions. If you are first, that means you're the server. The ball should be served. If you play the ball out of order, you are out.

Step 3: Play until the ball is out.

The ball is out when it bounces on a boundary line or outside of the boundaries completely, hits the ground before it hits a wall, or if a receiving player doesn't let the ball bounce after it has hit the wall.

Step 4: A fumbling player should be thrown out.

In order to return the ball, a receiving player must run to the wall.A fumbling player may allow another player to throw the ball at the wall before they reach it.The fumbling player is out of the game if she doesn't touch the wall before the ball arrives. She is still in the game if the fumbling player touches the wall before another player can throw the ball. She gets to serve again if she reaches the wall first. The next player takes her turn and serves to start the game again if she is out.

Step 5: Continue after someone is out.

Depending on the rules, players can be eliminated in a variety of ways. The play is dependent on the rules that you and the other players have established. When the thrower is out, play continues with the catcher as the new person serves the ball.If the thrower is out because she has fumbled the ball and someone has thrown her out before she can reach the wall, play continues with the person who threw her away.A person who is not a thrower must try to reach the wall before someone throws him out if he tries to field the ball. The server still serves if he is thrown out.At the beginning of the game, a throwing order is established for younger or less skilled players.Everyone has the chance to throw.

Step 6: Baseball rules are used to give players 3 strikes.

If the ball gets to the wall before another player is able to throw it, the player gets a strike and continues playing until he gets her third strike. If you play until everyone is out except for the winner, you can have 3 strikes.

Step 7: Adding a rule to the 3 strikes process.

When a person receives a strike, you can penalize him by making him place his hands on the wall while the other players throw the ball at his butt.Only allow one throw per person and only allow players to throw at the butt because it is very unlikely the player will get injured.

Step 8: Rules for throwing can be created.

If you are an advanced player, you can add bonus points or penalties for things like one handed catches, one footed catches and using your left hand.A player can be rewarded for pulling off a difficult trick if the rule is broken. You can evoke the rule of only catching with your left hand.If your opponent uses his right hand to catch then he gets a penalty.

Step 9: There is a no bouncing rule.

Remove any bounces to speed up the game. The players need to move closer to the wall to be prepared for the fast pace.As players try to cover their ground, the quickened play can become dangerous.

Step 10: Get along with other players.

Dodgeball rules can be used to direct the ball at an opponent instead of the wall, so that she drops it and is out.You can distract your opponent before he tries to get the ball so that he doesn't get a strike. If you throw the ball in the direction of players who are scared to catch it, they will be more likely to make a mistake and be out of the game.If you know you can catch a bad thrower, throw in your direction.

Step 11: Do you know how to get quick strikes on other players?

You can use the rules to your advantage. If you are playing a game of left handsies where everyone must only catch with their left hand, aim at the other player's right hand so that they can't reach over and catch it with there left. The receiving player may be forced to step out of bounds if she tries to catch the ball if you throw it close to the end line.

Step 12: Look to throw the ball.

The thrower has an advantage because she knows where the ball will go.If you have good aim and timing, you will be able to continue throwing as you get other players out.It may be difficult if you don't start as the thrower. If the server makes a mistake, look to catch the ball and establish yourself as the new thrower.
