Many of today's fashions include tights.tights can be worn under dresses, skirts and jumpsuits to cover legs while being less bulky than pants.If you follow a few simple steps, you can slip into tights without tearing them.
Step 1: The tights should be the right size.
The correct size is the most important step when putting on tights.No matter how you try to get them on, you're going to have trouble.The size of tights depends on weight and height.To find out what size of tights is right for you, check the packaging.If your tights are too tight, you should move up one size.Your tights are usually snug enough to stay around your waist.Pick a size marked "tall" if you are taller than average.Always choose the larger of the two if your measurement falls in between sizes.
Step 2: Take care of your hands and feet.
If your tights get a tear, they are useless.Don't wear jewelry that could get the material.You should buff any rough edges from your fingernails, toenails, hands and feet.
Step 3: Remove the packaging from your tights.
Take out the cardboard backing from your tights.To make sure you don't tear the tights, gently fold the cardboard in half so you can ease it out the top of your tights.
Step 4: The tights need to be stretched gently.
Before you put the tights on, you need to stretch a bit.If you pull too hard, you risk tearing them.
Step 5: In front of you, hold the tights.
They should be held with the front facing forward while sitting.You can check for tags inside the waist band.
Step 6: Put one leg of your tights in the toe.
Start on either the right or left side and gently bunch the leg, gathering the fabric until the inside of the toe is exposed.The tights could get a run if you pull too hard, so be careful as you do this.
Step 7: Put the foot of the tights over your foot.
Put your foot inside the tights.Put your whole foot inside and arrange the bottom of the tights' foot so that the seam at the toe runs across the tip of your toes.Make sure the tights fit around your feet.Keep your thumbs inside, pointed downward and the nail-side against you to avoid getting your tights.To make sure your foot slides inside without catching on the fabric, you might need to stretch the opening a bit.Pointing your toe will help protect it.If the toe of the tights is not straight, you will have trouble with later steps.
Step 8: Pull the tights up.
You can stretch the material of the tights by putting it up your leg.Make sure the fabric doesn't pull or rip by easing it on slowly.The fabric should be straightened if it is twisted at the knees.The tights need to be pulled up your other leg.The waist and toe of the other leg can be used to create a path for your foot.Attach your foot to the toe of the hose so that the seam runs across your toes.Pull the tights leg up over your calves and knees.Make sure the leg of your tights doesn't get twisted.
Step 9: The tights need to be pulled up.
Stand up and gently unroll the material after you partially pulled the tights up.Pull up the tights until the waist band is positioned around your natural waist.If you pull the material up on one side, then the other, you'll have the best chance of finishing with the hips and waist.Roll the tights down to the knees if the legs don't seem to be long enough, or if there are areas left that are rumpled or baggy.Roll them back up if you just sit down.They will likely tear if you pull them back up from the top.
Step 10: Make necessary changes.
There are places where your skin feels pinched and where the tights are bunched.Your tights should be snug.If you see a place where your tights are twisted, you should take them off and repeat the process more carefully.The flats of your hands can be adjusted.
Step 11: Your pattern is perfect.
If you're wearing patterned or seamed tights, make sure that the design is placed correctly on your legs.Try putting on a pair of rubber gloves to make small adjustments for a flawless finish instead of pinching the tights with your fingers.
