You have a metal bed frame lying on the bedroom floor.Metal bed frames all follow a few steps.A friend may be able to help you put the frame together. You'll be ready for a good night's sleep soon after you assemble your bed frame.
Step 1: The side rails should be separated from each other.
The two longest metal pieces in your pack of bed frame materials are the side rails.Line the sides of your bed with the ends facing the wall. You can always adjust this later, but you should leave a mattress-sized space between them. You can see where the top of the bed is by looking at the side rails.
Step 2: Put the feet on the wheels.
These attach to the side rails at the corners of your bed.The little rods that are poking down near the side rails can be popped onto the wheels or feet. Most feet and wheels don't require you to use screws or a wrench, but you can check your instruction manual to make sure they fit.
Step 3: The frame legs are parallel to the cross arms.
Pull the cross arms out of the side rails because they are attached to them.Attach them to the side rails if they are packaged separately.
Step 4: The side rails have end caps on them.
End caps are small pieces that slide onto the end of the side rails and help protect you from sharp metal edges.Don't skip this step because they help protect the walls and mattress. If your bed frame does not seem to have end caps, you can wrap it with fabric or duct tape.
Step 5: Lock the side arms together.
Make sure you connect the bed frame to the mattress spot you want it to be.You have to attach the side arms with screws, nuts, or metal plates if you want them to click together. If you don't know what kind of mattress you have, the standard US bed width is Twin, Full, Queen, and King.
Step 6: Before you add any finishing touches, make sure your bed frame is the right size.
The edge of the frame is where you should line up your mattress. The frame should be slightly narrower than the mattress so that it can fit inside. The side arms have to be adjusted if the width doesn't match. If you have a queen or full size mattress, it's important that you keep this in mind.
Step 7: If your bed frame has a center support beam, put it on.
If the center support beam isn't included in the materials, it's not necessary. Before you put on the center support, you should add wheels or feet to your bed.The center beam should be put into the side arms. You probably need to screw it in if there is no place to slide it into.
Step 8: If you want, add a headboard.
The frame should be moved away from the wall. You might want to grab a friend to help with this, so you don't drop it as you attach it.If you want to slide the headboard into the metal bed frames, you need to use a headboard bracket. You will have to bolt on some of the headboards with hooks. They can add a personal touch to your bedroom, even if you don't need a headboard.
