Razor cutting can be used in many ways. You can use it to change the look of your hair. You could damage your hair if you do it wrong.razor cutting is easy, and once you get the technique down, it can be really effective.
Step 1: Start with short hair that is a few inches long.
If you already have short hair, this method is great.Adding texture to your hair will help reduce volume. It would be easy if you have the same hair length. If you have long hair, cut it with hair-cutting shears so that it is a few inches long. This method assumes you are cutting someone else's hair, but you can use it to cut your own hair.To be more comfortable, you may have to change the hand positions. The safest way to cut your own hair is to have someone who knows how to do it.If you're cutting your hair on your own, make sure you have a mirror in front of you and behind you so you can see the back of your head.
Step 2: If you have curly hair, make sure it is dry.
If your hair is curly, wavy, or natural. You should first wet it with water.Curly hair can be cut while it is dry.It will be easier to prevent this from happening if it is damped with water. The curly hair will be straight.
Step 3: There is a strand of hair between your fingers.
Use your index and middle fingers to make a V shape. With your palm facing out, pinch a thin of hair between them.Pull the hair from the top of the head until you reach the ends.To see it, hold it at a 90-degree angle to the top of the head. The length of your finger should be closer to the strand of hair. The first section should be parallel to the front.
Step 4: The hair should be cut with a straight-back razor.
Place the razor below your fingers.Short, upward cuts towards your fingers. The hair on your fingers will fall as you cut it.For this, use a straight-back-razor with guard teeth. The teeth are made from metal and are shorter than a razor comb.
Step 5: Continue in horizontal rows towards the back of the crown.
Cut hair all along the front strands, from temple-to-temple.You can create another row just behind the first one once you finish cutting the hair. The back of the crown is where the head starts to curve downward.
Step 6: You can cut the hair in the back with your fingers.
Between your index and middle fingers, pinch a strand of hair on the back of the head. The hair on the top edge of the strand should touch the base of your fingers if you angle them. You can remove the hair with a razor. The angle is determined by how short the back and sides are.Try to match the angle to the curve of the client's head. The top of your hand should face the client's head.Work your way down the back of the client's head, from top to bottom.
Step 7: Curl the hair on the sides with your fingers.
You should pinch strands of hair between your fingers. To make sure the hair on the top of the strand matches up with the head hair, angle your fingers.Go along the side of the head towards the back. It's a good idea to trim the hair beneath your fingers. The hair on the sides should be towards the back.If necessary, trim away any excess length.
Step 8: If you want, trim and texture the bangs.
The hair should be combed with a soft bristle brush.Run your razor comb along the strands after pinching and twisting thin sections of hair. This will shorten them and give them a soft texture.
Step 9: Run your razor comb over the hair.
The client's hair should be brushed in the direction they normally wear it.To brush hair down, use a straight-back razor comb.Don't cut too much off if you dig too deep into the hair.Work your way down the sides and back after starting with the top of the head.
Step 10: If necessary, flatten the hair along the ears, nape, and sideburns.
If the client's hair is cut short enough, you can see the entire ear.If you want to trim thin strands of hair, use your fingertips to pinch and pull them away.Continue until the hair is even. When you get to the ears, fold them down so that you can see what's behind them.Ask if the person would prefer their hair to fall over their ears or tuck behind them if they have long hair.
Step 11: The hair should be brushed and styled.
The client's neck and shoulders should be dusted off with a soft brush.Ask the client if they want their hair blow dried and flat ironing. You should clean up their haircut after you've straightened their hair.
Step 12: There are two ways to start a pixie or undercut.
This method can be used for other hair styles that have the same length and style.Maintaining the shape and style is what it is ideal for.It will save you money at the salon.
Step 13: If your hair is curly, damp it.
For curly, wavy, and natural African textured hair, razor cutting is not usually done on dry hair.It is a bad idea to cut this type of hair.It will be better to damp it with water first. If you have straight hair, leave it dry.
Step 14: A razor comb has both long and short teeth.
There are only one set of teeth for most razor combs. You need a razor comb with long and short teeth on one edge. This will allow you to control how much hair you cut.Straight or curved teeth can be found on the comb. The curved side of the comb will cut less hair than the concave side.
Step 15: Place your head on top of your hair.
If you are trimming an undercut or a pixie that is shorter on the sides and longer on top, you only need to use this.To separate the long and short hair, use the handle of a rat-tail comb. The long hair on the top of your head should be secured with hair clips. Most people have a top section that spans the width of their forehead.
Step 16: The comb should be run down the sides and back.
When brushing your hair, run the comb through it.The downward flick at the end of each stroke is what you should give it.If you need to trim off more hair, use the short/concave.Depending on how long your hair is to begin with and how short you want it to be at the end, you can use either edge. You are most likely going to have to alternate between the two edges.
Step 17: Cut the hair around your ears with scissors.
The ears are neatly trimmed. The best way to get the cleanest line is to trim the hair by hand and use small scissors. If you want to clean up the lines, use small scissors.Depending on your haircut, you may have to do this along the temples and nape.Use a fine-toothed comb to comb the hair downward.
Step 18: If necessary, trim the long hair on your head.
There is no set length for the hair on the top of your head, it just needs to be long enough. If you want to leave this hair long, you can either trim it down further or leave it long. You can find more information on trimming the hair on the top of your head here.
Step 19: Take care of your hair.
Change into a set of fresh clothes after taking a shower. This will make sure that you don't have any hair on your skin.
