If you are a pipe smoker you have dealt with tobacco that is old.It's usually bought from a store that doesn't seal well and sits on the shelf for too long.Some smokers like the taste of tobacco.There are a few ways to rehydrate the leaves.
Step 1: Use a teapot.
A tea basket sits on the top of a teapot.The tobacco will ruin if the water touches the top basket.The tobacco should be in the basket.Allow the teapot to sit for 30 minutes.If the tobacco is moist, check it.If it isn't tobacco, leave it in.
Step 2: If you want toHydrate, use a steam iron.
The steam iron should be pre-warmed to the hottest setting.The newspaper should be placed on a heat resistant surface.You can spread your tobacco on the newspaper.If you want to spray the tobacco with water, use a spray nozzle.Let the steam go for 10 seconds if you hold the iron above the tobacco.Don't touch the iron with the tobacco.
Step 3: A vacuum sealed jar can be used.
The tobacco should be in a salad bowl.Wet the tobacco with a spray-bottle and spray a fine mist over it.The tobacco should be mixed with a spoon or spatula.The jar has a rubber-gasket lid that screws down.Put the jar in the oven at 200 F for 20 minutes or until it feels hot to the touch.Allow the jar to stand for ten minutes.Remove the jar and place it in a dry place.Don't open until the next morning.Pack tobacco tightly and seal the lid.
Step 4: Use an orange peel to moisten.
The tobacco should be put in a jar or bag with a tight seal.There is an orange peel in the bag.Take care of the bag's contents and leave overnight.The tobacco and orange peel will be moist in the morning.
Step 5: Use a potato.
The tobacco should be in a bag.A small piece of potato.The bag should be sealed.The tobacco will quickly moisten if you check the bag once every hour.
Step 6: Use bread.
The tobacco should be in a bag.For small amounts, add a piece of bread or a half piece.Check the bag every few hours to make sure the tobacco is moist.If left overnight the tobacco will become very moist.
Step 7: You can use asealable bag.
Spread the tobacco evenly over the towel.The tobacco can be misted with a spray bottle.The mixture should be spread with your fingers.If the tobacco is damp, repeat.The moistened tobacco should be put in a plastic bag with the rest of the tobacco.To mix, shake the bag.Wait half an hour or so for the humidity to go down.
Step 8: Put a cloth on the cover.
If you want to give the tobacco better exposure, put it in a bowl.A clean towel should be used to cover the bowl.The tobacco shouldn't be touched by the towel.To secure the cloth, use a rubber band.The tobacco should be checked every few hours.This method isn't likely to compromise the integrity of your tobacco.
Step 9: Use a sponge to moisten.
Cut off a small corner from a new foam sponge.The sponge should be damped by using water.Make sure the excess water isn't dripping.Add the tobacco to the container.The tobacco will be helped by the damp sponge.
