How to remove and replace the rear wiper arm on a Ford Escape.
You should twist your arm more than you think you should.They are a compression fit.
The arm assembly can be replaced without removing the nut.I did it because I didn't want to break the glass.The left side of the arm assembly has a little cap on it.It comes off.The arm assembly and blade should be in your right hand.Pull hard to the right.The arm and spring will come off.The spring should be inside the new arm.The short shaft under the nut has a loose end of the spring.The arm and blade assembly should be pulled hard to the right again.You're done.From rich.
I used adjustible pliers from the base to the nut and wiggled it off so I wouldn't damage the top of the threads.
Copied a suggestion of using the nut on top so as not to damage the thread and then worked all the way round a bit at a time.It was also used to help.
