How to remove Polystyrene Coving is a video on YouTube.

I bought a house and the ceiling is wallpapered.Polystyrene is stuck to the ceiling.I would like to get rid of the wallpaper, but I've read stories about damaging the plasterboard.I want to get rid of it.I won't be replacing it.What is the best thing to do?Is there a way to get the glue off the wallpaper without damaging it?

I'm Hi.It depends on the adehisive that was used, many times I have found that people used a cement base glue on ceiling tiles. It's going to take a lot of filling and preparation, but if you're lucky they might have used a normal glue that would be easier to remove. It's easy to remove apples over wallpaper if you soak it and remove the paper and glue.Hope this helps you.

Is the wallpaper done before or after the coving is put up?There will be a section without wallpaper if it was done after.

If the plaster is papered first, it will rip the paper off and not the plasterboard.

It may be a messy and time consuming job and I have always found repairs to be required after the job is done.
