Step 1: Make sure your printer is running.
No parts will move while you are changing the toner because the printer will detect when parts are open.To detect the refill and avoid errors, it needs to be powered on.
Step 2: The front cover is open.
There is a button on the right side of the printer that you can use to open the front cover.
Step 3: Take the current assembly out.
When you open the front cover, you see this large object.
Step 4: The drum unit assembly has a lever.
This can be seen on either side of the unit.
Step 5: The drum unit assembly needs to be lifted.
If you press down on the lever, the printer should come out of the hole.The printer's manual instructs you to discard the old one.If you have a Brother account, Brother will recycle your old Cartridges as long as you send them.
Step 6: The protective covering needs to be removed.
Don't touch the areas after you remove the plastic covering, but look for the tab that will help you pull the covering away.
Step 7: There is a drum unit assembly.
Before you remove it, place it in the same position as the old one.When it's completely in, you'll hear it lock in place.
Step 8: The green tab is left and right.
The drums and corona wire are cleaned.The green tab should be returned to its Home position if you line up the triangles.
Step 9: Attach the drum unit assembly to the printer.
The unit you removed is being replaced.
Step 10: Shut the front cover.
The front cover should be locked if the button on the front of the machine is clicked.After shutting the front cover, the printer will adjust and suggest printing a test sheet.The test sheet should be printed to make sure you install the new toner correctly.
