Restoring your Windows 8 computer to an earlier point in time can wipe out any recent changes you've made to the operating system, and can also remove any viruses that have recently invaded your machine.If you want to restore your computer, you can either refresh or reset it to install Windows 8.
Step 1: From the right side of the screen, swiped in.
The upper-right corner is where you want the mouse to go.
Step 2: Click or tap to change settings.
Step 3: Click to change PC settings.
Step 4: Click to update or tap to recover.
Step 5: Click or tap Recovery.
Step 6: Click or tap to start.
The "Get started" buttons are on the screen.Click on the one that says "Refresh your PC without affecting your files"
Step 7: What will be saved and removed should be reviewed.
You will be able to save your files.The Windows Store apps will be reinstalled.The downloaded or installed apps will not be reinstalled.
Step 8: Click or tap to move on.
Step 9: If prompted, you should insert your Windows 8 installation disk.
Depending on how Windows 8 was installed on your computer, you may be prompted to insert the installation disk.You can create a recovery disk if you don't have an installation disk.
Step 10: Click if you want to refresh.
Your computer will restart.
Step 11: Wait for the computer to refresh.
It may take several minutes.
Step 12: You have to sign in with your account.
Step 13: Wait as Windows finishes setting up.
When your Windows Store apps are reinstalled, your files will be where you left them.The programs you installed from the internet will need to be reinstalled.
Step 14: Click or tap the button.
This will open the Start screen.The Win key or button can be pressed.
Step 15: Recovery can be typed on the Start screen.
Step 16: In the results, click or tap Recovery.
Step 17: Click or tap to restore the system.
Step 18: Click or tap to change the restore point.
Step 19: Click or tap to move on.
Step 20: Pick the restore point you want to use.
When hardware changes or programs are installed, restore points are created.They can be created manually.You can choose from one or two restore points.You can choose a restore point before the computer started having issues.You can check a box to see additional restore points.
Step 21: Click on the program you want to Scan for.
This will show the programs that will be removed or added.When you're done, click "Close"Programs that have been restored need to be reinstalled.
Step 22: You can click next.
Step 23: Click Finish to finish.
Step 24: To begin the restore, click Yes.
Your system will be rolled back to the restore point you selected after your computer restarts.
Step 25: Put your system to the test.
If you are still having the same issues, it's time to check them out.
Step 26: A system restore can be undone.
The System Restore utility can be found in the Control Panel.Click to stop the system restore.Wait for your computer to restart.
Step 27: From the right side of the screen, swiped in.
If you use a mouse, you should go to the upper-right corner of the desktop.
Step 28: Click on settings.
Step 29: Click on the settings that you want to change.
Step 30: Click Update and recover.
Step 31: Click to recover.
Step 32: Under " Remove everything and reinstall Windows", click get started.
Step 33: Click next.
Step 34: You can use the drive cleaning method you want.
If you want to keep the computer for yourself, choose the "Just remove my files" option.If you are getting rid of the computer, you should clean the drive.The full clean will take several hours to complete, but will securely erase all of your data.
Step 35: Click reset.
Your computer will restart.
Step 36: Wait for your computer to reset.
Depending on your computer, this may take anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour.
Step 37: If prompted, insert a Windows 8 installation or recovery disk.
You may be asked to insert the disk if Windows 8 wasn't installed on your system.If you have a Windows 8 installation disk, you can use it.You can create one if you don't have a recovery disk.
