Private messages can be sent to another user, but they are limited to text only.Due to the incomplete mobile website and frequently changing apps, mobile users may need to try some solutions.
Step 1: It is recommended to visit the compact site.
There are two versions of the mobile site.You can reply to both messages, but only on the compact site.
Step 2: You can visit your inbox.
Click the envelope in the top right on the compact site.The hamburger menu icon is in the top right on the regular mobile site.In the menu that appears, select the button with the envelope symbol.
Step 3: You can reply to the message.
You can read messages other users have sent you by selecting the "messages" tab.To reply to a message, touch the gear icon to the right of the message.Hit "send" when you type your message.The basic site has a blue "reply" button.Hit "send" if you type your message into the text field.
Step 4: Write a new message.
The "send a private message" button is at the top of the inbox screen."Are you human?" is a field that you should fill out.Hit send after Captcha.
Step 5: You should check your inbox.
You need to log in to your account.The envelope symbol is near the top right corner of the screen.If you log in, you can go straight to the inbox at reddit.com.
Step 6: You can send a message.
The tabs at the top of the screen change once you're in your inbox.You can go to the message writing screen by clicking the "send a private message" tab.Click send to fill out the "to," "subject," and "message" fields.You can send a message to reddit.com.
Step 7: You can reply to the messages.
You don't need to fill out the form again after the conversation has started.You can see the messages in your inbox by going to the envelope.To reply to a message, click on the grey "reply" link.
Step 8: The send link can be found on a user page.
You can visit the user page if you see a usernames below a submission or comment.Underneath the karma amounts, there is a small "send a private message" link.
Step 9: The envelope is in the top right.
Many users still use an unofficial app despite the official app being in active development.You can reach the messaging inbox by touching the envelope icon in the top right.
Step 10: There is a navigation drawer.
You can open the navigation drawer if you don't see the envelope icon.The envelope icon is on the list.
Step 11: The inbox tab can be found at the bottom of the app.

Step 12: Use a user page to send a message.
You can send a message from someone's Reddit name instead of browsing through inbox options.The layout varies with each app, but this is the general process: Select the usernames written in small letters just underneath or above a post.If you don't see one, tap the post or expansion button first.The envelope icon or the "send a message" button can be tapped.To send a message, hit "send" and type your message.
