How To Send SQL Queries to MySQL from the Command Line
A simple text-based program should have been part of your installation.You can send queries directly to the server and get the results in text.It's a great way to test your installation.
Step 1: The program should be in a bin under the directory where it was installed.

Step 2: Start with the command prompt.
If you want to use the MySQL account on the machine where the server is running, you'll need to enter the password.
Step 3: When prompted, enter your password.
Step 4: Press the Enter key if you want to type your command followed by a semi-colon.
You should see the response on your screen.
Step 5: To quit the database, type quit at the prompt and press the Enter key.
