How To Set up a Mosquito Net

Mosquito nets are used to keep mosquitoes out of a person's bedroom.Malaria prevention and other mosquito-borne diseases are important, but they are also important for comfort in tropical countries, whether you are sleeping indoors or outside.There are three types of mosquito nets: self-supporting nets, wedge & bell nets and box nets.

Step 1: You should find a suitable area for your net.

There is a dry area that is close to the water.If you want to set up a tent on a self-supporting net, you can find a spot that is comfortable.If you are inside, find a spot where you will feel comfortable and have enough room for the net.

Step 2: Unpack the net.

The net, strings, and stakes should be removed from its bag.The net should be separate from the other parts.

Step 3: Take out the net.

The net should be spread over the area.To get to the corners of your sleeping area, pull the stake loops on the ends of the tent.It will be easy to tell if your net is right-side up if it has a base.Make sure the net has any zippers on top of it.

Step 4: The poles should be connected.

The poles will be broken into small sections.The full length of the pole can be formed by connecting the sections.If you have polls of different lengths, separate them so you don't accidentally use a short poll.

Step 5: The polls should be in the net.

There are either fabric sleeves or clips that hold the polls in place.The polls will connect to the stake loop on the opposite side of the net from where they began.If you have a rectangular net, you will most likely have two long polls that cross each other in an X shape at the top of the net.There is a small poll that holds the entryway of the net up.

Step 6: Take the net to the ground.

If no stakes are included with the net, stake the tent to the ground by hammering the stakes into each corner.The stakes will go through loops on the corner of the tent.You don't need to stake the net to the ground if you are inside.

Step 7: You can put your sleeping bag or mattress inside the net.

If your skin is touching the edges of the net, keep it away.

Step 8: You have to close all of the zippers.

It's a good idea to make sure the zippers are completely closed.Smaller mosquitoes may be able to get through.

Step 9: Attach the net with an area over your bed.

The nets attach to the ceiling in one spot over your head.Bell nets attach over the center of your bed.To attach the net, there has to be a spot over your bed.The ceiling will usually have a hook, pin, or fixture on it.If you can't find a spot over the head of your bed to attach the net, consider moving it.At an attachment point, an overhead beam will work.If there are no good places to put a hook, you can use a strong one.hooks work well in hotel rooms

Step 10: Unpack the net.

Pull the net out of the bag and put it on the bed.Remove the rope or string that came with the net.

Step 11: The ceiling should be secured with the top of the net.

Take a look at the part of the net that is attached to the ceiling.This part will be a strip of thicker fabric on some nets and a loop on other nets.The top of the bell is formed by a small square of material.Attach a rope or string through the loop on your net to the anchor on the ceiling.If the anchor is a beam, you should wrap the rope around it several times.

Step 12: The net should be sealed at the bottom.

Put the corners of the net under your mattress.You need to get every inch of the net tucked in.The top of the net that is attached to the ceiling may need to be lowered if there isn't enough fabric to tuck under the mattress.It is possible to let out slack on the rope or string you used to attach the net.

Step 13: Attach the net with an area over your bed.

Box nets allow you to move around in your bed without being stung by the net.Box nets have one attachment point for each corner of the net.There are hooks on the ceiling.If you can't find a spot over the head of your bed to attach the net, consider moving the bed.At an attachment point, an overhead beam will work.If there are no good places to put a hook, you can use a strong hook.

Step 14: Unpack the net.

There are strings or rope in the bag.Put the net over your bed to match up the corners.

Step 15: The net should be secured to the ceiling.

The net is attached to the ceiling.There are four loops on the top part of the box.Wrap a rope or string through the loops on your net and anchor it to the ceiling.If the anchor is a beam, you should wrap the rope around it several times and tie the end securely.
