How To Set Up an Unlocked Android Unit

The first thing you most likely want to do after you unlocked your phone is use it.You need to set it up first before you do that.It is not as difficult as it sounds. There is no need to worry about having to fully set up the device from scratch if you have an unlocked device. Before using a new sim card, there are a few things to consider.

Step 1: Determine which network to use.

Although you can still use the network carrier's sim card, you may want to use another carrier since that is the point of having your phone unlocked in the first place. To make an informed decision as to which network carrier to try next, consider the various offers, plans, and monthly recurring costs of different carriers.

Step 2: Check the size of your phone's sim card.

Older phone units use regular-sized cards while newer ones use micro cards, which is half the size of the former. If you want to get a new sim card from your chosen provider, you should bring the old one with you when you get your unlocked device.

Step 3: Decide if you want to go pre-paid or postpaid.

If you want to go the pre-paid route, you need to purchase a sim card. The card will be around $3.Most network service providers will include the sim card for free if you go for postpaid service.

Step 4: You should switch off your device.

There are sim slots in the back of the unit.To get to the slot, you need to turn off your phone and press the Power button. The "hot swap" feature on some units allows you to swap your phone for another one with a single tap.You don't have to turn off the phone if you put a new sim card in the slot.

Step 5: The new card needs to be inserted.

After removing the battery, insert the new sim card into the slot provided. Before you put the battery back, make sure the card is locked.

Step 6: You should turn on your phone.

You can switch on your phone by pressing the Power button.Wait for the Home screen to load before using the device.

Step 7: You can use the new card.

When the Home screen is up, you can make calls, send text messages, or surf the internet to make sure the sim card is working. The carrier will send the network data configuration settings for your phone to be able to use mobile data after you have a new sim card.Once you receive the settings, you just need to tap "Save" to do it.Make sure that your device is unlocked to all networks if you are unable to use the new sim card.
