How To Speed up Torrents

There is a way to increase the download speed of a torrent.Practice basic Internet speed habits and modify your torrent client's settings in order to speed up some torrents. If the torrent does not have enough seeds to complete its download, there isn't much you can do.

Step 1: You can choose torrents with enough seeds.

It will take more time to download a torrent with fewer "seeds" than it will with more "leeches".You won't be able to download the whole torrent if it has few seeds.

Step 2: When you download, close background services and programs.

Running programs that take up a lot of bandwidth will slow down your download rates.

Step 3: Try to get one torrent at a time.

If you're running into issues with torrent speed, try pausing all but one.The bandwidth used by the other two torrents will be allocated to the one that isn't paused. You can pause the torrent by right-clicking it.

Step 4: A specific torrent should be prioritized.

If you download more than one torrent, you can set its priority to "High" in order to cause it to download faster than the other torrents in your queue. You should hover your mouse over.Click on it.

Step 5: When you download a torrent, don't download other files.

Running streaming programs and file-sharing programs other than your torrent client will prevent your torrents from being downloaded in a timely fashion. If you share an Internet connection with more than one person, try to download your torrent when they aren't using it.

Step 6: During periods of low activity you can download.

You should try to download late at night or early in the morning if you know that anyone else on your internet connection isn't also doing so.

Step 7: You can connect your computer to your internet service provider.

It's a good idea to use an Ethernet cable to connect your computer to your router to make sure you don't have any issues with your download speed.Bring your computer as close to your router as possible if this isn't an option for you.

Step 8: You can use a virtual private network.

If your internet service provider doesn't approve of you using torrents, you can use a virtual private network to circumvent the restrictions. You should keep in mind that torrenting illegal files can result in your address being blacklisted.

Step 9: It's a good idea to open either uTorrent or BitTorrent.

Two of the most popular torrent clients are here.If you don't have uTorrent, you can download and install it from the internet.

Step 10: Click on the option you want.

It's on the left side of the window.A menu will appear.

Step 11: Click on the one you want.

Step 12: The torrent should be stopped.

Step 13: Allow UPnP.

Click the tab to find out more about UPnP, a connection type that allows your torrent access to the correct port. The "Enable UPnP port mapping" box should be checked.Click on it.

Step 14: Make the upload and download capacities better.

Click the tab to make sure you aren't spending too much bandwidth on uploading while allowing you to download an unlimited amount. There is a "maximum upload rate" heading near the top of the window. To the right of the "Maximum upload rate" heading, type 500.Make sure the "Global Rate Limit Options" text box has zero in it.Click if you want to.

Step 15: The number of connections should be changed.

Set your "Global maximum connections" text field to 150 will help keep your torrenting profile in good standing with the community. The maximum connections per torrent text field can be set to 100.The text field should read "Upload slots per torrent".

Step 16: The number of downloads should be changed.

Click the tab to do so.The maximum number of active downloads should be increased.Click on it.
