How To Stream Your GoPro to Your PC Using VLC Media Player
There are many mobile apps that can be used to stream your video.If you have been trying to stream a video to a PC, you may have run into problems.Even if you don't have advanced programming knowledge, you can still set up your camera to stream.You will need to install external software for newer models, but with just a few extra steps, you will be streaming in no time.
Step 1: It's time to turn on your wi-fi.
The process is not the same as the Hero2 and Hero3 series.If you have a Hero2, you need to connect your camera to the BacPac.If you have a Hero 3 or 3+, you can use the Mode button to cycle through your settings.Go to the settings and select the Go Pro App.
Step 2: Attach your PC to the camera.
Your PC should have a list of available wireless networks.You can use your wireless network to connect to your GoPro.Goprohero is the default password for the wireless network.
Step 3: You can get the URL of the stream.
You will need this to send your stream.Press Enter to type in the address bar in your web browser.Click amba.m3u8.Click on the address bar to copy the entire URL.
Step 4: There is a media player.
Go to the Media menu and select "open network stream", then copy the URL from the box beneath "please enter a network URL" to your computer.
Step 5: You can watch your live stream.
To launch the media player, press play.
Step 6: Camera Suite can be downloaded from camerasuite.org.
As soon as your payment is processed, you will be directed to the software download.
Step 7: Attach a new connection to your camera.
Go to the Wireless menu and select the GoPro App.You can display your 6-digit code by choosing "New".You will need it within a minute.
Step 8: Pair your PC with a camera.
You can use your PC to connect to the goprohero wi-fi network, then launch the CameraSuite software.Click the button and enter the 6-digit code from the camera.Select the camera that you want to pair.
Step 9: Run the streamer.
Click the Video Streamer link and choose Hero 4 as your camera model.Click Start to begin the stream, then click "Copy Player URL into Clipboard"
Step 10: It's a good idea to set up a media player.
Click on the box beneath "please enter a network URL" in the Media menu and paste the URL.
Step 11: You can view your live stream.
You can launch the media player by pressing play.
Step 12: There is another PC media player.
FFmpeg is a better option for streaming to your PC if you are comfortable with command line computing.
