How To Stretch an Ear Lobe Piercing

Earlobe stretching makes your ears bigger to accommodate big jewelry and it is also a meaningful journey. You can see how far your ears can go.Some people refer to this as "gauging" your ears, and even though this isn't the correct term, it is very commonly used for beginners. For many people, having someone else do it for them is less painful than doing it on your own.

Step 1: You should get an ear piercing.

You should get your earlobes pierced if you don't already have it.If you get a gun piercing done at the mall, it's not that great.Go to a piercer and get your lobes pierced.Wait at least five months before starting a stretch to allow your ear to heal fully. The safest way to get a piercing is with a needle, and they can pierce your ear at a bigger size than a gun can.

Step 2: Do you know the size of your piercings?

Standard piercings start at 16g or 14g, but can be done bigger by request. It is possible that years of wearing long, dangly earrings and tugging on your piercings will make them bigger.Body piercers can measure your ears to see what size they are.

Step 3: Pick a stopping point.

It's difficult to decide on a stopping point. You may decide on a larger size later on.Get a rough idea of where you want to stop. You can buy what you need at the store. These are the sizes for piercings that are stretched. The 20 gauge is the smallest and increases in size as the chart continues.20 gauge-.8mm 18 gauge-1mm 16 gauge-2mm 14 gauge-4mm 12 gauge-7mm 1 gauge

Step 4: Purchase earrings and tapers.

For the first few stretches (before a 10 or 8 gauge, depending on your elasticity), you might be able to just put in the earring.Tapers are not jewelry and should only be used as tools to stretch to the next size, and follow up with your tunnel/plug."dead stretching" and "taping" are two other methods of stretching.Dead stretching is when you wait until your piercing is loose enough to move to the next size without using a taper.A few wraps of tape every 3-4 days will move the piercing up to the next size fairly rapidly. When you first stretch a piercing, hoops and horseshoe earrings are much easier to wear than plugs because they allow for movement and swelling.A stretched piercing is a new piercing. It's easier to stretch with the help of lubricatings. If you're going to be out for a while, you might want to get some Jojoba Oil.It's not a good idea to use Neosporin and Vaseline in lubes. It says not to use on a cut or open wound if you read the back.

Step 5: Take care of your ears.

Push the taper in when you have the bathroom to yourself.Let your ear rest while you put the earring in.It's a good idea to lubricate both sides of your ear. Some people say a hot shower helps to make your ear stretchy and massage it to get the blood flowing. When stretching, one stretch should start by pushing the taper in from the front, followed by the next stretch, then the back, and so on.It helps to keep scar tissue from forming and stretching easier.

Step 6: It's important to keep it clean.

Sea salt soaks can be done twice daily for the first week or so.You can use ear care solution from the piercer to clean your ears. It's easier to use a hoop earring during this time.

Step 7: Get ready for the next stretch.

The chart shows how long you should wait between stretches.

Step 8: Using Teflon tape and packing it onto your earrings can make stretching easier, but is more likely to harborbacteria that can cause infections.

Step 9: Know when it's time to stop.

If you stretch too much and get a thin lobes, downsize and do daily oil massages to make them thicker. To roll it back in, downsize and put a single flared plug in from the opposite side.
