Setting up a practice map will help you get used to surfing without other players looking.Surf maps can be found online by searching for "cs source surf maps".Surf maps are available for download.Maps for other Counter-Strike versions will not work.If you want to learn the surfing mechanics, look for maps that are easier to navigate and have more forgiving ramps.

Step 2: The map file can be copied to the correct location.

Go to the following directory and open your file explorer. You can put the file into the folder to add it to your list of maps.

Step 3: Start a game in Counter-Strike.

Source.Select "create a server" when you've copied the map to the correct location.

Step 4: "LAN" can be found from the "Network" menu.

Random people won't be allowed to join or mess with you while you practice if the game is limited to local players.

Step 5: From the "Map" menu, choose your new Surf map.

There is a new Surf map listed here. The map name will have "Surf_" before it.If you don't see the new map, you need to place it in the correct location.

Step 6: Start a server.

Click "start server" to start the game.It may take a while to load.

Step 7: Press

You will need to adjust settings in order to surf. You'll be able to practice under normal conditions if you use these settings. If the console doesn't show up, open the Options menu on the Main Menu, select "Advanced," and then use the "Enable Developer Console" option.

Step 8: The following commands should be entered.

The server physics can be adjusted by entering the commands below.

Step 9: Understand the basics.

Surfing in Counter-Strike uses gravity to maintain speed. To navigate the map, you'll have to jump from surface to surface. You'll use the A and D buttons to stay on the angle, and the mouse to steer.

Step 10: Hold on.

If the key is the opposite of the slope, you should hold either A or D.If you're on an angle where the upper edge is on your right, press and hold D to push yourself towards the apex. This will keep you on the surface. The essential motion for surfing is this. You want to counter gravity by pushing the opposite direction. The simplest way to remember this is to use a simple diagram.

Step 11: Aim your mouse at the bottom corner.

This will allow gravity to work in your favor.

Step 12: Before jumping, move back towards the upper corner.

Climb back up before jumping to the next surface after moving towards the bottom of the ramp. You are making a wave motion for each surface you hit, starting high, moving low, and then moving back up high before jumping.

Step 13: Press

If you reach the end of a surfing surface, press Space to jump and move to the next surface. To keep your speed, try to jump at the last second.

Step 14: Hold on.

Hold the key that matches the direction you're going.

Step 15: Never press.

It's tempting to press W to move forward, but this will slow you down. You will get all the speed you need by moving along the ramps.Press S if you need to stop mid-air or slow down on a ramp.

Step 16: The ramp in the upper corner is nearest to you.

The bottom corner of the ramp is where you'll get the most space to surf.Maintaining a high speed can be achieved by hitting the right entry spot. The edge of the ramp will kill you if you hit it.

Step 17: You can adjust your game settings.

The settings you entered are great for practice, but the pro surfing server will use less forgive settings. If you're familiar with how surfing works, change the value of the airaccelerate 800 to 100.In order to get used to the slower air acceleration speed, you can decrease it in stages until you reach 100.

Step 18: Big air can be avoided.

Big jumps will kill your forward momentum. If you're trying to get the best times, you should stick to low jumps to clear the space you need while maintaining your speed. The higher you jump the longer you hold Space. To clear the gaps, try to just tap it.

Step 19: Look for corners you can skip.

If you've found a way to skip the map, the one time big air can be useful. You need a high speed so that you can make the jump. Some maps don't have skippable sections.

Step 20: If you want to attack other players, use a shotgun.

The M3 shotgun is one of the best weapons to use while surfing, as it stays accurate even while moving quickly.Try to use it on players who use the same surfing ramp as you. It's not always possible to use guns and attack other surfers. The accuracy of automatic weapons will be terrible. You will never get an accurate shot while moving.

Step 21: Stop in front of the other players.

If you've already messed up your jump, this can be a good tactic. If it's against the rules, you may get kicked off of a server.
