Your preschoolers are learning a lot about the world around them.Animals are one of the many new things they are learning about.How can you teach your kids about animals?There are many ways to introduce animals to you in a fun and exciting way.We have put together a list of ideas that you can look at.
Step 1: There is an animal-themed nursery rhyme.
Try singing some of the classic songs like "Old MacDonald Had a Farm," "It's Bitsy Spider," and "Mary Had A Little Lamb." Look up new songs online that you can sing with your kids to make learning about different animals a playful activity.It's possible to make a new song with your preschoolers.They will love it even if it's silly.
Step 2: Students should identify the animal on the card.
Pack of animal flash cards can be purchased from a local department store.You can draw your own on notecards.Ask your kids to identify the animal by holding up the picture.Give them a lot of love and praise if they get it right.Keep up the positive energy if they get it wrong.
Step 3: Pick up some books about animals.
There are lots of pictures of animals in books.Look at the images in the book when you read the story.If the children guess wrong, gently correct them.
Step 4: Paint and construction paper can be fun to play with.
Cut out animal shapes from construction paper so your kids can play with them.They can use markers, crayons, or non-toxic paint to paint animals on drawing paper or construction paper.The art doesn't have to be perfect, just keep it fun and relaxed and talk about the different animals while your kids work on their art projects.You can use a lot of different art projects.Kids can trace their hands to make an outline for a turkey.Paint toilet paper tubes black and white to turn them into penguins.You can try out animal themed art projects with your kids.
Step 5: You can use a coloring book.
What child doesn't like to color?Print out a bunch of blank animal templates or break out some animal themed coloring books.The children can use their imaginations to fill in the images.Use the time to talk to them about the animals they are working on.You could talk about where lions live, what their mane is for, and what kind of food they eat if they were coloring a lion.
Step 6: Simple stick puppets can be used to make learning animals fun.
Allow your children to color or paint simple animal designs.The designs should be glue to the ends of the craft sticks.Allow your children to play with their stick puppets and talk to them about the animals while they have fun.
Step 7: Give a student a plastic animal and have them guess what it is.
Put a blindfold on your children and have them close their eyes.Give them one animal and let them try to guess what it is.Let them check to see if they guessed correctly.
Step 8: Ask the kids to imitate an animal as they run.
Talk to your children about different animals.Line them up outside or somewhere that has a lot of room for them to run.Call out an animal and have them run a race pretending to be that animal to make it fun and challenging.
Step 9: You can see and learn about the animals.
You can take a field trip to the zoo or aquarium.Tell your kids about the different animals you show them.Learning about animals can be fun if you see them up close.
Step 10: You can explain the animals with your kids.
A TV is the next best thing if you can't go to a zoo.Allow your kids to watch an educational show about animals.Talk to them about the different animals that they are seeing to reinforce what they learn on the program.
Step 11: There are sites that teach kids about animals.
There are a lot of educational sites that you can use.Visit the sites with your kids and look at the different animals to learn some cool and interesting facts.
