Colin Wilson tells the story of a man who lived in India and walked along a dirt path every day to swim in a river. On the way home, he noticed his footprints and noticed that at a certain point along the road he had switched and walked to the other side.He was wondering why.Why did he move to the other side of the road?He looked off into the trees and saw enormous tiger tracks, just off the road, at the point he switched to the other side. The man was aware of the danger and probably saved his own life by avoiding a tiger. Is it coincidence or precognition? You can learn how to apply your extrasensory perception to your life.
Step 1: Premonitions, precognitions and prophecies are different things.
A lot of terminology gets thrown around when you get into future-telling.It can be hard to understand.A lot of mystical mumbo-jumbo can be untangled by keeping terms straight. It is awareness of the future through some kind of perception, like dreams. Most precognitive experiences occur within a few hours before the event. The idea of something happening, but not knowing what it is, is involved.Feelings of "hunches" that something "feels right" are what might be included in a pharonitions. These can be just as important as precognition.Back to the ancient Greek sense of time, the future is fixed and unchanging.A prophecy is a knowledge of a future that will happen.Something to be prophecies means that it cannot be changed.
Step 2: Begin meditating deeply.
Humans have parts of their minds that are inactive, sitting in their skulls. Is the dormant abilities really useless? Not necessarily.Flexing your unconscious muscles is possible if you practice deep meditation and let your mind take over.Future telling takes place here.Make yourself comfortable in a room with soft natural light. If you want to calm your mind and concentrate on breathing, sit in a comfortable upright position on the floor.Take a deep breath and feel it in your body. You can feel the breath going out of your body.Go back into the world and feel the oxygen in your body. All you have to do is focus on your breath. As you breathe, begin to relax your body.First, relax one arm, with every breath.Relax and feel the breath in your arm.Go to your other arm, then down your chest, and throughout your body. It's a good idea to calm your head and mind. It's important to focus on relaxation.
Step 3: You should gradually enter and deepen your entranced state.
There isn't a big secret to meditation.Zazen is a type of meditation done by Zen monastics. The goal is to let your mind take over, with its extrasensory powers.By learning to do this, you will be able to see more of the future. As your trance deepens, you should lose your sense of time and allow your mind to become more perceptive. Some diviners like to visualize climbing or descending a ladder or walking into a cave to symbolize diving deeper into their unconscious state.
Step 4: It is possible to add meditation to your daily life.
As you begin entering your trances and deepen your meditation, stop trying to force things to happen and start letting them happen.During your meditations, pay attention to the images that arise and then look for them during the day.Keep an eye out for the faces and people that come up in your meditations. They could be precognitions. All your senses are used.It might sound silly, but you can think of your body as a psychic eye.The future can be seen in temperatures, smells and feelings. If you notice feelings of anxiety when you see owls, take it as a sign that you've never experienced it before. If every time you hear her sing, you feel cool, it's a premonition of something.
Step 5: Pay attention to the signs.
It's up to us to find signs and portents.Learning to tell the future still requires a lot of work, but you will be a better future teller if you work out your extrasensory muscles. If you want to open your perception and expand your abilities, stop seeing events as random and start seeing them as part of a plan.Pay attention to the hair on the back of the neck. When something pierces the little hairs on the back of your neck, stop what you're doing and focus. What do you see? What did you see that startled you? What appears to be significant?Pay attention to what's happening again.Have you ever felt that something has happened before?Look at what seems off about these moments. What do you notice?Do you know where you are? What sense memories are being evoked?Paying attention to coincidences is important.A cute barista will be wearing a t-shirt with a furry insect on the back, if you wake up and see moths on your porch. Is it a coincidence? There is no such thing, what matters is that it happened.Coincidences are symbols, signs and portents.
Step 6: Look at the symbols.
You couldn't get the image of a group of crabs drinking gasoline on a beach at night out of your mind when you meditated. It's weird! What does it mean?It might mean different things for different people, so learning to apply them to your own experience will be up to you.Think of it as dream interpretation or poetry analysis. The images should give you an idea of what to expect. Is it positive or negative? Is it powerful or weak?Is daytime or nighttime the same? You can research the individual symbols in your life and meditations.Crabs are significant in fortune telling, appear on the "Moon" Tarot card, and are part of the Zodiac. There is a significant vision. The symbols that appear in your dreams can be read in the Dream Bible. It is a good place to start.
Step 7: You can read about Greek mythology.
The future is going to be a tough climb if you don't know your yarrow stick. If you're interested in telling the future and developing your extrasensory muscles, it's a good idea to do your own research and learn about the myths and symbols of your culture. The way in which we understand our minds is influenced by the writings of Carl Jung.Joseph Campbell's The Hero With a Thousand Faces is an excellent resource for finding patterns that recur across cultures and mythologies, suggesting that certain symbols, signs, and portents might be ingrained in us as humans.
Step 8: Keep a dream journal.
If you can't remember your dreams, it can be hard to analyze them.Every time you go to sleep, keep a notebook beside your bed with a pen ready to use. When you wake up, write everything down.It should be described as a specific amount of detail. No matter how tired you are, try to do it as soon as you wake up.What did you see?Who was there? What do you like to smell, taste, or texture? How did you connect with it?Was that a scary dream? Is that a sexy dream?A pleasant dream?First thing to do is write down the dialog. It can be frustrating to think that something important might have been communicated, but not remembered, and this is the first thing to go.
Step 9: You can awaken yourself throughout the night.
If you can't remember your dreams, wake yourself up.Interrupting your dreams is a great way to remember the symbols in them and keep them fresh in your mind. You can complete two REM cycles of 90 minutes each if you have an alarm on your phone that goes off every three hours. If you write down your dreams in a minute or two, you'll be able to record them and still get a full night of sleep.
Step 10: Pick out the symbols in your dreams.
Interrogating the symbols rise out of your dreams and assigning significance and meaning to them is the same thing you might do with symbols that come up in your meditation.Pick up a lot of things in a dream.Crabs are drinking gasoline on the beach. The crabs and gasoline seem significant, but also consider what drinking might symbolize, what sand might mean, and other emotional elements to the images. What was it like to watch?People are symbols as well.It doesn't mean that you're in love with your best friend and should start kissing. Our subconscious has a symbolic meaning to the people we dream of.It's possible that you're attracted to a certain element of your friend as a person if you dream of kissing them.
Step 11: You can connect your dream symbols to your life.
Common dreams, like dreaming that your teeth are falling out, or that you are flying, have common interpretations, but you might make more compelling ones.To create your own premonitions and precognitive sense of what the future might hold, use your dreams along with your extrasensory perception of your life.If you're waiting to hear the news after a job interview and dream that you are flying high and out of control, you might be feeling anxious about the idea of freedom a new job might bring. It could be that you've got the job.Use practicality in your dream analysis. It doesn't mean "my friend is going to die" if you've dreamt about it.A chapter in your friend's life might be closing or changing in the future. It can be applied to what's happening in your life.
Step 12: Practice dreaming about the future.
Dreams can be used to try to question the future. If you have practiced and developed the ability to remain conscious while you're dreaming, try to visualize a pad of paper, or some other oracle, and ask it direct questions.Who is going to win the Super Bowl? What chance do I have of getting this job?You can see what happens.
Step 13: To consult an oracle, pick one.
An oracle is a method that allows you to "read" the future. You don't need to climb a mystical mountain and present a floating trio of goddesses with a wreath and a clear conscious to consult an oracle.Think of oracles as tools for seeing, or as a way to get to the future quicker. The Latin word for "to speak" is oracles, which are ways of making it easier on yourself. If you like totemic symbols and unusual images, the Tarot is the way to go.To get started, visit an experienced Tarot reader. You can learn about the history of the tarot in divinatory culture. If you enjoy meditating on stories and coincidences, you should consult the iChing.Scrying, palm-reading, and other more complex methods of divination will allow you to put your own spin on the oracle if you enjoy deep meditation and open-ended symbols.
Step 14: Ask questions that are open-ended.
If you want to find an oracle for your future-telling needs, you need to ask a probing and open-ended question. This will help you apply the symbols to your interests. If you lead with a question that is both open-ended and complex, it will work. The oracle will give you something concrete to interpret if you start with "What should I notice...".Will I get this job?You won't get a yes or no answer when you throw bones or read the i ching.Instead, ask the questions "What do I need to know to improve my chances of getting this job?"
Step 15: Consider reading Tarot cards.
Major and minor arcsana are some of the 78 cards that make up the tarot cards. There are four suits: cups, staves, swords, and pentacles, with strange art on each card that you can read in a number of different ways.It is one of the most versatile ways of telling the future.A specific question is the focus of most Tarot readings. If you want to learn more about Tarot, you should go in for a reading, get a guidebook, and get familiar with the deck.
Step 16: Ask the questions.
The book of changes is called the iChing.Coins, marbles, yarrow stalks, and other mathematical methods can be used to draw a six-lined "hexagram" made up of two symbols that correspond to an entry in the book. You will throw some dice, ask a question, and read a few mysterious passages. It's a great way to get in touch with the future if you enjoy poetry, chance, and meditating on stories.
Step 17: Read the shadows.
The art of divining the future by looking at shadows is called sciomancy. If you want to start, you need a candle and a sense of your own ESP.There is a dark room with plain walls. You should use a single candle to illuminate yourself. For a while, open your eyes and look into the corners of the room to see how the light plays with the shadows.Write down the images that come to you out of the shadows.Imagine that the room is your mind and the shadows are your ideas, images, and thoughts. What is it that seems significant? What could happen in the future?
Step 18: Go into a crystal ball.
Similar to shadow-gazing, scrying is the art of looking into a reflective surface of some kind, most famously a crystal ball, to find images and symbols for interpretation. You should get a crystal that is made of clear quartz.Other crystals that are acceptable include amethyst, beryl, selenite, and obsidian. The diameter of the crystal should be at least four or five inches. If you want your crystal to be free of psychic negativity, you need to charge it in the light of the full moon and keep it locked up in a safe place. If you want to look into the crystal, place it in front of you on a stand or pillow. You can enter your deep meditative state and stare into the crystal, relaxing your eyes and allowing images to reveal themselves.
Step 19: Look at the stars.
People have always looked to the stars for guidance. For thousands of years, astrology has been used to learn about ourselves and our futures. You can learn more about interpreting symbols based on the organization of the stars by moving past your basic newspaper horoscope.Astrology is a mystic tool and just as much of a philosophy as a way of understanding behavior. There are 12 astrological signs that combine the four elements, earth, air, fire and water, with one of the three qualities.Learning about your symbols can help you understand how you should look into the future and what you can do to make your future your own.
