Adding a shawl to an outfit adds a touch of class. They can be a nice gift. Before you start crocheting a shawl, check out the basics so you know what to expect.Making a shawl is a great project to keep you occupied once you've got those down.
Step 1: A chain can be made.
The top end of the shawl will be created by this.Start with a slipknot, a yarn loop shaped like a pretzel, and slip it onto the crochet hook.Wrap the yarn around the hook.Pull the hook to carry the yarn through the loop. One loop remains on your hook with your first chain stitch.Make sure your stitches are the same size.Relax your hands if they're too tight. If they're too loose, shorten the distance between the two hands. You need to make the chain long enough to wrap around yourself to know how big the top end of the shawl is.
Step 2: You can crochet along the chain with any stitch you want.
You put your hook beneath the front and back loops of the second chain to make a single crochet stitch.Wrap the yarn around the hook to catch it.The two chain stitch loops are used to draw the hook.Draw your yarn over both loops on the back of the hook.Start at the fourth chain stitch from the hook.Back to front.Under the front and back loops of your third chain stitch, slip your hook.Take yarn over the front of the hook.Leaving you with three loops on the hook, you drew your hook through the two chain stitch loops. To get your hook through all three loops, back to front, and yarn over the hook.Start at the fifth stitch of the foundation chain. The yarn should be over the hook from back to front. The fourth chain stitch has loops under the hook.If you want to catch your yarn, Yarn over the front of the hook. You have three loops on the hook if you draw it through the two chain stitch loops.Back to front. You have two loops on the hook if you slip your hook through the first two.Draw your hook through both loops by yarning over the hook back to front.yarn over the hook twice.Under the front and back loops of the fifth chain stitch, put your hook. You can get loops on the hook by yarning over and drawing it through.Draw through the first two loops and you have three loops on the hook. You will get two loops on the hook if you yarn over and draw it through the other loops.Again, draw through both loops on your hook.
Step 3: Turn the chain stitch.
When you get to the next row, you have to make a chain stitch. It's called chain and turn.Turn the piece from the right to the left.Continue until you reach the end of the row.
Step 4: At each end, decrease by a single stitch.
If you want your shawl to be triangular, you have to decrease the stitches on either side. There are two decreases per row, one on either side. When you decrease, you need to skip the final step of your stitch so that you don't leave the worked loops on the hook. With your previous stitch's loops on the hook, work your next stitch. You draw your yarn through all the loops of the first and second stitches to combine them.
Step 5: When the shawl is close to a point, stop.
Only one last crochet stitch should be used. This is what you will use to secure the shawl.
Step 6: Fasten off.
The rest of your stitches need to be secured so that they don't come undone.Cut your yarn from the loop on the hook.Bring the yarn over the hook and draw it through the loop.To secure your last stitch, pull the tail.
Step 7: You should make a chain.
A slipknot is a type of knot shaped like a pretzel.Wrap the yarn around the hook to pull it taut, after you slip this knot onto your crochet hook's shaft. You will have one chain stitch on your loop and one completed chainstitch if you slip the hook with the wrapped yarn through it.The shawl has a wide edge. You need to keep the same number of stitches the whole way down because it's rectangular. It should be long enough to wrap around you or someone you are giving it to.
Step 8: You can use your stitch to crochet along the chain.
You want to make sure that your stitches are the same size.If you think a rectangular shawl looks cool, use whatever stitch is easiest for you.Find the fifth stitch of your foundation chain with the is a good basic stitch. From the back to the front. The fourth chain stitch has loops under the front and back.If you want to catch the yarn, Yarn over the front of the hook.Through the two chain stitch loops, draw your hook. You will have three loops on the hook.Back to front. You have two loops on the hook if you slip your hook through the first two.Draw your hook through both loops by yarning over the hook back to front.Start with the typical chain.Start with the third stitch from the hook. There are three stitches.Don't do your next three stitches.Double crochet the next three stitches.Chaining three stitches and skipping three. The double crochet is your last stitch.Chain three more times and then turn.Continue doing the double crochet stitch, skipping three, and chaining three until you are done.
Step 9: Without increasing or decreasing your stitch, crochet back and forth.
As you work, you need to keep the same shape. If you do skip a stitch, you'll need to either frog your stitches up to that point or incorporate the skipped stitch into your design. If you count out your stitches when you're making the chain and then count them as you work, you can keep track of whether you missed any stitches.
Step 10: Fasten off.
It's time to secure the last stitch if you want the shawl to be big.The shawl won't come undone. The yarn has to be cut from the loop on the hook.Draw your yarn end through the loop when you slip it over the hook.Pull the yarn's tail in order to tighten it and secure your stitches.
Step 11: Add fringe
The pieces of yarn should be the same length.Decide how many strands of yarn you want to make. The pieces should be folded evenly. The first loop is from the bottom up of the shawl.Attach the pieces of folded yarn to your crochet hook.Push the pieces of yarn through the loop.Pull taut.Continue until you add as much fringe as you want.
Step 12: Add some adornments.
You can add a thick one to the corners of the triangular shawls to make them look better. The fringe is made in the same way as the steles, only you add more yarn to each bundle. The pieces of yarn should be the same length. They should be folded over evenly.Attach your hook to the stitch where you want to place the fringe or tassel. When you were crocheting, you would loop your hook into the middle of the yarn.Pull the pieces of yarn together.Pull your yarn through the loop by wrapping it around your hook.It was completed.
Step 13: You can make your own shawl pin.
You can add a little character to your shawl with shawl pins. You can make them from a variety of materials. If you're really creative, you can paint the dowel.Attach a small hole to the end of a six-inch long piece of wood.Slip a wire through the hole and twist it to form a loop large enough to move freely.Cut excess wire after threading beads onto each wire end.Attach the wire to the loop.
