Gladiator sandals are a great way to add flair to any outfit. They are easy to tie and look complicated.Wrap them around your ankle and then tie them in the back or front. If you tie them up under your knee, the width of your calve will hold the straps in place.
Step 1: Take one tie from each hand.
You should have the ends of the ties at the back of your ankle after you put on your sandal.Take the left tie and the right tie out of your hand.
Step 2: Wrap your ankle with ties.
The left tie will go around your ankle in a clockwise direction.Go towards the back again by crossing the ties in front of your ankle.Pull the ties in a way that doesn't cut off circulation. You can fit a finger under the ties.
Step 3: Wrap the ties front to back and back to front.
Wrap each tie the same way, crossing them in the front and back.Take a look at the wraps you've already made.Go around and around your ankle until you have enough to tie a bow or knot. You can go up your leg if you keep the ties below your calf. The wraps will fall down if you try to tie them over the calf.
Step 4: The straps should be removed in the front or back.
The front will be a bit easier if you want to tie them in the back.Simply tie a square knot or a small bow to hold the strap in place over the wraps you've already made around your ankle.A square knot is where you cross one tie over and under the other, then you do it again.
Step 5: There is a tie in each hand.
The tie should be at the back of the shoe when you put your sandal on.When you're wrapping a tie up your leg, make sure the ties are equal in length. If your sandals have a tie, tug on the ends until they're the same length.
Step 6: Wrap the ties around the back of your leg.
Wrap the right tie around the left. You should cross them over the front of your leg.The way up the front of your leg is where the crossing point should be.There is a big "X" on the front of your leg.
Step 7: Just below the knee, cross the ties behind your leg.
If you want this wrap to stay up properly, you have to get the ends of the tie at the top of your calf.Pull the ties around to the front again after crossing them over.Make sure the straps are tight enough that you can get a finger under them.
Step 8: In front, knot the ties.
Wrap the ties in the same direction you started and bring them to the front. To hold the straps in place, tie a square knot or bow in the front. If you want to make a square knot, cross one tie over and under the other tie.
