How To Total a Column on Google Sheets on PC or Mac

You can learn how to find the total of a column in a spreadsheet when you use a computer.

Step 1: You can go to sheets.google.com in a web browser.

Follow the on-screen instructions to sign in if you haven't already done so.

Step 2: Click on the file you want to modify.

Step 3: Click the cell you want to place the result in.

There is a blank cell on the sheet.

Step 4: Click it.

It's in the middle of the sheet.This opens the function menu.

Step 5: Click SUM.

It is at the top of the menu.

Step 6: Pick the cells you want to add.

If you want to do this, click the first cell in the column and drag the cursor down until all the cells are selected.

Step 7: Press enter or return.

The cell shows the total of all values.
