The "iPhone is Disabled" lock occurs when you enter the wrong password several times, and you don't know it.Incorrect password attempts can cause your phone to be disabled indefinitely, even if you remove the lock after 60 minutes.If you want to remove the lock, you can either use Recovery Mode in iTunes to erase your phone, or from both iTunes and iCloud.
Step 1: Attach your phone to the computer.
The charging end of your phone's cable should be plugged into your computer.If you use a Mac, you'll need to buy a cable to connect it to the computer.
Step 2: If you don't already have it, open it.
The app icon looks like a musical note on a white background.You should skip the Recovery Mode method if iTunes asks for a password or says it's unable to interface with your phone.
Step 3: Click the icon.
There is an icon in the upper- left side of the window.
Step 4: Click the button to restore the phone.
This is on the left side of the page.If you turn on the Find My iPhone feature, it will prompt you to turn it off.If you can't use Find My iPhone while your phone is disabled, try using iCloud to wipe it out.
Step 5: When prompted, click Restore.
If you do that, your phone will start restoring to factory settings.It is possible that you will need to enter a password.
Step 6: Wait for the restore to be finished.
If your phone needs to be updated, it may take longer.The "Disabled" protection on your phone should be unlocked once the restore is complete.
Step 7: You can restore a backup.
If you have a backup of your phone, you can restore it's settings, photos, apps, and so on.You will need to enter your Apple ID password and email address in order to restore a backup in iTunes if you have an activation lock on your phone.If you don't have a backup, you'll need to buy a new one.
Step 8: Make sure you have Find My iPhone on.
You won't be able to use this method if you turned off Find My iPhone at any point.Try using recovery mode instead.
Step 9: You can open your page.
If you have an Apple ID, you can log in by entering your email address and password in your browser.This will show you your dashboard.
Step 10: Click on the phone to find it.
There is a green radar icon at the bottom of the dashboard.Doing so causes iCloud to try to find your phone.You may need to re-enter your Apple ID password.
Step 11: Click all devices.
There is a green tab at the top of the window.There is a drop-down menu.
Step 12: Select your phone.
The drop-down menu has your name on it.You can see the page on the right side of the window.If you can't see your phone's name, Find My iPhone is not on.
Step 13: Click to erase the phone.
It can be found in the bottom-right corner of the page.
Step 14: When prompted, click Erase.
The password field will be brought up if you do that.
Step 15: You need to enter your Apple ID password.
You can type the Apple ID password in the password field.
Step 16: You can click next.
It can be found in the upper-right corner of the page on the phone.
Step 17: Click Done.
The green button can be found on the upper-right side of the page.Doing so causes your phone to be erased.
Step 18: Wait for your phone to finish wiping it clean.
The process of wiping out is usually done in a few minutes.You can proceed if you see different languages' versions of "Hello" on your phone.
Step 19: You can restore a backup.
If you have a backup of your phone, you can restore its settings, photos, apps, and so on.You need to enter your Apple ID password and email address in order to restore a backup in iTunes if you have an activation lock on your phone.If you don't have a backup, you'll need to buy a new one.
Step 20: Recovery Mode can be used when you don't want to.
Recovery Mode can be used to reset your phone on a computer you've never used before.You will need to use Recovery Mode if you can't use iTunes to restore your phone.
Step 21: If it is open, close it.
It's important to enable Recovery Mode if you leave iTunes open and then place your phone in recovery mode.
Step 22: Attach your phone to the computer.
