Birthdays, both your own and your friends', can now be celebrated on Snapchat.You can use a birthday lens on your birthday if you enter it into your profile.Birthday snaps can be sent to friends that have entered their own birthdays into the app.
Step 1: There is an update on Snapchat.
To access the birthday lens features, you'll need to be version 9.25.0.0 or later ofSnapchat.February 2016 was when this update was released.You can check your device's app store for updates.
Step 2: Your birthday can be entered in theSnapchat settings.
You need to enter your birthday into theSnapchat settings in order to use the Birthday Lens.The Ghost can be seen at the top of the screen.The button is in the upper-right corner.This will open the app's settings.You can enter your birthday by tapping "Birthday".Only a few times can you change this.The birthday lens is available on that date.
Step 3: The box is labeled "Birthday Party."
This will give you access to the Happy Birthday lens on your birthday, and will enable the birthday cake emoji next to your name, allowing others to send you special birthday snaps.This won't reveal your age.
Step 4: Press and hold on to your face.
After a moment, a wireframe outline will appear.If you are in a well-lit area, make sure your face is in the frame.The device may not be able to use the Lenses if they don't load.The feature requires a newer device.Older devices may not work at all.
Step 5: You can choose the birthday lens.
The birthday lens should be the first one on the list.If it isn't appearing, make sure you enter the correct birthday.To send a snap to a friend on their birthday, you'll have to double-tap their name on your friends list.The next section has more information.
Step 6: You can take a snap with the birthday lens active.
"Happy Birthday" will be displayed in balloon letters at the bottom of the screen when the birthday lens is selected.The circle button can be used to take a photo or record a video.
Step 7: You can open your friends list in the app.
You can send a snap with a birthday lens to your friend if they've enabled Birthday Party for their account.Select "My Friends" by pressing the Ghost button at the top of the screen.
Step 8: You can find a friend with a cake.
That person's birthday is indicated by this.If the other person has entered their birthday into theSnapchat settings, this will appear.
Step 9: To send a birthday message, double-tap the user.
The special birthday lens will be applied to the snap when you take it.
Step 10: If you want to send it off, take the snap.
Press and hold the circle to take a photo or record a video.When you're done making edits, you can send the special birthday lens effect off.
