In the Portland, OR metro area, you can use your phone to pay for public transportation.Hop Fastpass can be used to ride any Trimet, C-TRAN, or Portland Streetcar vehicle without the need for paper tickets.
Step 1: The Hop Fastpass app is available in the Play Store.
Hop Fastpass needs to be downloaded from the App Store before you can create a virtual Hop card.Adult, Honored Citizen and Youth fares are supported by the Hop Fastpass app.It's not possible to connect the Honored Citizen photo ID, Low-Income fare, LIFT, 1-Year Pass, or fare cards issued by your employer.
Step 2: If you want to pay with tap-and-pay, make it your default wallet.
Even if you use another mobile wallet, you'll need to use the primary tap-and-pay wallet to pay for rides with Hop.The gear icon can be found in the app drawer.Either way, tap or.Either tap or.The On position is where the "NFC" switch should be turned.tap and select as your default method if you're using a SAMSUNG GALAXY.If you're using a different model, tap the back button and then choose your default payment method.
Step 3: Go to the Hop Fastpass app.
The blue icon says "Hop" inside.You can find it in the drawer.
Step 4: You can get a virtual card by doing this.
The first button is the most important.If you want to link a plastic Hop Fastpass card to the app, tap instead.
Step 5: You need to fill out the account creation form.
You need your full name, email address, and password to set up an account.If you ever forget your password, you need to choose a security question that you can use to access your account.
Step 6: You have to agree to the terms.
Step 7: You can enter a card nickname.
This is what your card will look like in the app.If you're linking a Plastic Hop Fastpass, tap the menu at the top- left corner, select and follow the on-screen instructions to enter your card's details.You can use your phone to pay for rides after the card is added.
Step 8: You can choose a Rider type.
There are three different fare rates you can choose from.
Step 9: There is a starting card value.
The amount you select will be applied to your Hop Fastpass immediately.Pick one of the value options or add funds later.The fee will be applied when the card is created.
Step 10: Go to check out.
The form is at the bottom.This shows your payment options.
Step 11: Under "select a payment method", you can tap Google Pay.
To pay for rides with your phone, you will need to use a payment method.
Step 12: tap Continue if you want to continue with your payment.
Pick the information you want to use to process your Hop Fastpass payment if you have more than one account.
Step 13: Follow the instructions on the screen.
The Hop Fastpass is now active.
Step 14: The Hop Fastpass app is available for download.
The blue icon says "Hop" in white letters.The app drawer has its icon in it.
Step 15: Load value is below the card balance.
You can add a flat amount to the card.If you want Hop to load a specific amount after existing Hop funds are exhausted, you need to switch to the On position, select the amount, and then process your payment.
Step 16: You can choose an amount.
You'll see a list of payment methods once you've been selected.
Step 17: Pick a payment method.
You can either add funds from your mobile wallet or enter another card.
Step 18: To confirm your payment, follow the instructions on the screen.
The value has been added.
Step 19: There is a Hop Fastpass card reader.
Hop Fastpass readers can be found on the doors of Portland Streetcars and inside Trimet and C-Tran buses.Every time you ride a bus, train, or streetcar, you need to use the Hop Fastpass reader.
Step 20: Your phone's screen can be unlocked.
Make sure the screen is unlocked so you don't have to open any apps.
Step 21: The lower black section of the reader has a phone in it.
A checkmark will appear on the reader's screen once the virtual card is read.
Step 22: If requested, show proof-of-fare.
If you are approached by a fare inspector for proof of payment, simply open the Hop Fastpass app and tap at the top of the screen.
