There are flies and other flying insects in your home. You can use Raid fly ribbons to control them. These traps are made of sticky paper. They are easy to use.Pick an ideal location for the trap, pull the ribbon out of its tube, and hang it on the wall. Then, wait for the trap to catch flies.
Step 1: If you go to a spot where flies gather, the tube can hang freely.
The best place for the ribbon to hang is against the wall. You can catch flies from all directions. There are viable locations for door openings, awning, sheds, and tree branches.Look for a surface that a thumbtack can penetrate. If you have to attach it to a harder surface, use duct tape. The ribbon should be placed somewhere that people won't knock on it.
Step 2: The thumbtack is on the top of the tube.
A flat, silver thumbtack can be found by the red ribbon on the top of the tube.Put it away for later.Put the ribbon in a safe place because you will need the thumbtack to hang it.A regular one can be used if you lose the thumbtack. If you try to find the original one, you risk stepping on it.
Step 3: On the opposite side of the red strap, hold the tube in one hand.
The bottom portion does not come out.Hold it with one hand. The tube should not be tightly held.Too much pressure will crush it, it is only cardboard.
Step 4: Pull the ribbon out of the tube by grabbing it by the red strap.
The ribbon has a red strap on it.Pull the strap until the ribbon comes out.Pull until the ribbon is extended.Pull with a circular motion if the ribbon doesn't come out well. The ribbon is 3 feet long, so you may have to adjust your grip to pull it all out.
Step 5: To hang the trap, hold the red loop up against the surface.
Hold the ribbon against the attachment point when you find it.You need a surface that can be penetrated by the thumbtack. The red loop needs to be pressed against the surface.
Step 6: Push the thumbtack through the red loop to get to the trap.
Take the thumb tack back.Push it into the hanging surface.Continue pressing until the tack is against the surface. If you want to hang the ribbon on a brick or metal surface, you can use duct tape instead of the thumb tack.
Step 7: If you don't catch flies in 2 days, move the ribbon to another location.
Light or water can cause flies to stay away from certain areas.Move the ribbon if you haven't caught any flies in a few days.Do you have better luck there? If the ribbon gets covered in insects, replace it with a new one.
