After hundreds of years of neglect, science is finally giving attention to hypnotism and concluding that it works, if not exactly the way people have claimed in the past.It won't give you control over the person you've hypnotized, but it will put him or her in a calmer, more focused state of mind in which extraneous memories and thoughts are often blocked outIt is possible to reduce stress and pain.Less time for distraction is a benefit of inducing hypnotism quickly.
Step 1: Speak in a soothing tone.
It is important that you talk to your subject in a way that calms and relaxes him or her.Speak slowly with some rhythm and melody. If you struggle with what you want to say, it will break the subject's focus, so use this as an opportunity to practice your script. You shouldn't say you're reading off a script. You will sound better if you practice.
Step 2: Prepare your subject physically and mentally.
It is important that he or she is relaxed.Inform him or her that you might touch him lightly, so that he or she won't be surprised by it.If your subject is wearing a skirt, give her a blanket to put over her legs so that she doesn't have to worry about her position.Tell your subject that it is okay if he or she coughs or moves. It will break his focus if he or she is trying to suppress a biological function. If you tell him or her to keep their legs uncrossed, he or she might get caught up in it.If he or she is wearing glasses, have him or her take them off.
Step 3: Let your subject know that he or she has nothing to worry about.
He won't fall into hypnotism if he has a distinct sense of fear. You want to let him know that you won't be able to manipulate them and that he'll be fine. This is a safe procedure. You will enter into a state of increased relaxation and focus, but you will be in control the whole time.
Step 4: Ask for permission to do something.
If he or she is ready to be hypnotized, begin by asking. It's important to establish consent so that he or she is mentally ready and calm.Ask the subject about any mental or emotional conditions that might affect their stability. You should only use hypnotism on people who are stable.Do you agree to be hypnotized? It should be sufficient.
Step 5: Not all people respond the same way.
They need to be willing to engage in the procedure.Approximately 80% of subjects are moderately susceptible, 10% are highly susceptible and another 10% have low susceptibility according to studies. The subject is prone to fantasy and empathy. His or her ability to focus while reading is related to susceptibility. It is thought that it is easier to hypnotize in a relaxing environment. It won't hurt, but some studies show that hypnotism is equally easy to reach in disturbing settings.
Step 6: The subject should be told to press his hand.
You can ask the subject to press his or her hand against yours by stretching one of your hands out.He or she should only be touching the edge of your hand so that it will be easy for you to withdraw his or her hand when ready.
Step 7: Tell the person to keep their eyes closed.
Take your other hand and wave it across his or her face.Immediately after having him or her press against your hand, do this very quickly. He will be able to focus on two tasks at the same time.
Step 8: The subject should be told to sleep.
Pull your hand away from him so that he falls forward, as if you told him to.The goal is to shock him.The process of telling him to sleep should take about four seconds. It is imperative that surprise and speed are present.
Step 9: The subject should be urged into a deeper hypnotism.
If not followed up with a script that takes him into a deeper state of hypnosis, the initial shock will fade.Continue in a calm tone and ask the subject to fall into a deeper sleep. The two best ways to deepen the hypnotism are rocking the head and doing a count.Rocking the head requires some physical contact with the subject.
Step 10: You can rock the subject's head.
If the subject is positioned so that he falls over into a slump after you pull away his hand, some hypnotists will start to rock the subjects head with their hands to induce a more relaxed state. You can tell him to relax his neck and let the feeling of relaxation spread through his body.He should be told to let his mind and body relax until he goes to sleep.Tell him: "As I rock your head, you will go deeper and deeper into a trance."The deeper you go, the better you feel.
Step 11: Try a timer.
As you count down from 1 to 5, tell him that he will be more relaxed. When you count down a number, tell him how he is falling. The relaxation is moving through your body. The relaxation is getting a bit deeper.Your mind is relaxed. The sense of relaxation is what you now feel.Try something like: "10, you feel yourself relaxing."Going deeper and deeper.Keep going, 8 doing excellently. You will be in a deeper state with each number.Excellent 6, deeper.Relax completely, 5, farther and farther. You're doing well. It's even farther away from the world. It was 1, 0.You are in a deep state of relaxation.
Step 12: Prepare your subject to wake.
Before you try to awaken him, tell him that it is almost time to wake up and become more aware and that you will make the transition peaceful. When he comes out of the trance, tell him that you will make him feel relaxed and comfortable. You should stop speaking in a slow, soothing tone and start talking like a normal person. The subject should be called by his name to remind him.
Step 13: Wake up the topic.
After you count down from 10, tell him that he will awaken.Talk in a less calm tone as you count down.Say something like, "10, you are feeling more awake."You are becoming conscious. You are thinking about your life. You feel like you are awake from a deep sleep.
