You can learn how to use the Square Point of Sale card reader and app.Square takes a percentage of each transaction.
Step 1: You can go to Square's website.
It is located at squareup.com
Step 2: You can sign up with the square.
There is a button in the middle of the page.
Step 3: You have to fill out your account information.
To create an account with Square, you'll need to create sign-in credentials, which include an active email address.You can create a password for your Square account by typing it in.From the drop-down menu, choose your country of residence.
Step 4: Click continue.
There is a button on the right side of the page.
Step 5: You can enter your business information.
Pick a business type from the "What type of business is it?"A box.What is your business name?A box.From the "Estimated annual revenue" box, select your company's projected annual income.Does your business have any employees?A box.You can choose a category from the box.Click if you can't find a category.In the "How do you plan to use Square?" section, you can choose a reason for using Square.If you want a drop-down menu, that's fine.
Step 6: Click continue.
It's on the right side of the page.
Step 7: Your personal information will be entered.
Legal first and last name Home address Zip code City State Date of birth Last four digits of your Social Security Number are included.
Step 8: Click continue.
Step 9: You can add your bank account details.
You need to enter the following information to open the account.
Step 10: Click on Continue.
You can choose one of the two card readers that cost between $29 and $49 depending on available deals.The package includes a chip reader for modern cards.It's free.There is a traditional card reader.
Step 11: Click the reader option if you want to continue.
This will take you to the checkout.
Step 12: Click the option that says "I want a reader mailed to me."
The box is on the right side of the page.If you're buying a reader, you need to enter your payment information.You can find a list of nearby retailers who sell readers by entering your Zip code.Square will cover the cost.
Step 13: Make sure the shipping address is correct.
By default, Square will use your home address.
Step 14: Click continue.
Within 10 days, your Square card reader will arrive.
Step 15: Square Point of Sale can be downloaded.
You can do it on either device.
Step 16: Attach the reader.
It can be plugged into your phone's or tablets' headphones jack.If you don't have a headphone jack on your device, you'll need to buy one from either Amazon or your phone's specific store.If you're using the Square reader, you need to connect it to your phone or tablets.
Step 17: The point of sale is open.
The Square POS icon is white with a grey square in the middle.
Step 18: Go to sign in.
There is a white button at the bottom of the screen.
Step 19: You need to enter your email and password.
You created your Square account with these credentials.
Step 20: Go to sign in.
If your email address and password match, you'll be signed into your account.
Step 21: Square can access your phone's information.
Access to your phone's microphone, location services, and push notifications are required by Square.If you want to confirm, tap each item.
Step 22: Point of Sale is used to tap start.
It's at the bottom of the screen.
Step 23: You can enter an amount.
There is no decimal point button so you can type without it.
Step 24: The tap charge is amount.
It's at the top of the screen.If your card reader is connected, you can open the interface.
Step 25: A customer can use a credit card.
If they use Apple Pay or a similar service, they simply need to hold their phone or card over the reader.They'll have to enter their PIN if the purchase is over $100.
Step 26: There is a checkmark on your device.
Your payment is complete once it does.
Step 27: Allow your phone to connect to the internet.
To do so, open your phone's settings, tap and slide to the "On" position.
Step 28: There is an open square point of sale.
There are grey squares on the white app.
Step 29: You can tap.
It is in the left-hand corner of the screen.
Step 30: You can tap SETTINGS.
You can see this option in the pop-out window on the left side of the screen.
Step 31: There are tap card readers.
It is in the middle of the screen.
Step 32: Click to connect a reader.
The option is at the top of the screen.
Step 33: Square contactless and chip reader are included.
This is the only option on the page.
Step 34: Hold the reader's power button.
There is a button on the back of the reader.You should hold it down for around three seconds.
Step 35: Wait for four orange lights to flash.
The reader has these on it.
Step 36: Release the button.
This should be the end of the process.Your reader is connected to your device.Simply press the reader's power button to wake it up if it goes to sleep.
