You can use a special lane while going through airport security with the help of the TSA PreCheck program.In this lane, you can have a shorter wait time, be allowed to keep your shoes and outerwear on, and have your liquids and electronics in your bag.If you want to apply for TSA PreCheck, you must apply online and schedule an in-person interview to get approval.
Step 1: The security line is marked for PreCheck passengers.

Step 4: Don't remove items from your luggage.
You don't have to remove liquids from your bag or take out electronics in the PreCheck line.If you want to send your bag through the X-ray machine, keep all of these items in your luggage.
Step 5: Allow for any additional requirements.
Even if you have been approved for the TSA PreCheck program, you are still subject to additional screening.Even if you have TSA PreCheck status, you should always follow the instructions given to you by the employees.Additional X-ray screening of your luggage, body scans, and even physical pat-down may be required of you.
Step 6: You should verify that you are a US citizen.
The program is only available to U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents.During the application process, you have to prove your residency standing.Canadian citizens who enroll in the NEXUS program are eligible for the PreCheck benefits.The Global Entry program may allow citizens of a few countries to be eligible for the PreCheck program.The program is open to citizens of India, the United Kingdom, Germany, Panama, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, and Mexican nationals.
Step 7: You have to fill out the online application.
To apply for PreCheck, visit the website at universalenroll.dhs.gov/programs/precheck.Click on the button and fill out the form.You will be asked to provide personal information, such as your name, address, birth date, recent employment history, and countries visited.The name you enter on the application should match the name on your passport.You will not be able to use the PreCheck option if the two differ.You will be asked to pay a fee as part of the application process.You have to pay this fee every 5 years.
Step 8: If you pass the requirements, you can be eligible.
There are a few requirements that need to be met for PreCheck approval.There are some possible reasons applications might be denied.
Step 9: You can schedule an in-person interview at the center.
You will need to schedule an in-person interview once you have been approved.You can find a location near you by visiting the online Enrollment Center Locator at the universalenroll.dhs.gov/locator.You need to bring your passport and any other requested documents to the appointment.The interview will include a background check, fingerprints, and questions about your personal details.
Step 10: You can add your known traveler number to your frequent fliers accounts.
If you pass the in-person interview and are approved for the PreCheck program, you will be given a known traveler number.If you use every airline, you should add this number to your frequent flier accounts.Each ticket you buy from approved airlines will have your TSA PreCheck approval added to it.If you don't have a frequent flier account with the carrier, you should add your KTN to your ticket order before checkout.This will make sure that you are approved for PreCheck.If you don't include your TSA PreCheck number when you book an airline ticket, you will not be able to use the benefits at the airport.
Step 11: You can check to see what airports offer PreCheck benefits.
The program was initially limited to 4 U.S. airports, but has expanded to 160 airports in recent years.The Transportation Security Administration has a website where you can see which airports offer these services.There is an interactive map on the website that allows you to view airports by state.
