Ground beef is used in many staple dishes including lasagne, meatloaf, and the ever popular hamburger.For cultural reasons and as a personal preference, many people wash or rinse raw ground beef with water before cooking to remove excess blood, liquid and germs transferred by people handling the meat at the processing plant.
Step 1: Make sure to read the recipe carefully.
Some recipes will tell you not to wash the ground beef.Adding water and washing meat will reduce the impact of that particular recipe.You need to read a recipe at least twice to understand the directions.
Step 2: Make sure you have all the equipment you need.

The water temperature should be cold when washing meat.You will cook the meat if you use hot water to wash the ground beef.There is a risk of burning your hands when using hot water.
Step 6: The ground beef should be washed under water.
To remove excess blood, break the meat up into smaller pieces with your hands.The meat should be washed in sections.Don't try to do it all at once.Take your time.Don't let the water from the sink get to the floor while you wash the meat.The surface of the meat will need to be cleaned and dried.
Step 7: The meat needs to be dried with a paper towel.
Don't push down on the meat when it's dry.The dried and washed meat should be placed in the second bowl.The ground beef is ready to cook.
Step 8: You should clean your kitchen.
After washing the ground beef, use hot, soapy water to clean it up.All kitchen utensils, cutting boards, and sinks need to be wiped down.It's a good idea to clean anything that may have come into contact with the ground beef.A solution of 1 tablespoon of bleach per gallon of water is enough to sterilize kitchen surfaces.If you want to dry them down, use a clean paper towel.The paper towels should be thrown into the rubbish bin.If you use a cloth towel to clean up, put it in the washing machine.
Step 9: You should wash your hands.
After washing the ground beef, use warm water and soap to clean your hands.It's important to wash your hands after handling meat or its packaging.You can wash your hands with soap and water.Rub your hands together.Put your hands on a towel.Don't forget to wash your hands, wrists and fingernails.
