Knitted headbands are great for keeping your ears warm in the winter. There are many ways to style a knitted headband.Leaving your hair loose over your shoulders is one way to find a look that is right for you.
Step 1: Curl or Straighten your hair.
The majority of your hair will be hanging down, so style it like you would normally, leaving it loose around your shoulders. If you want to do this look, you can make waves, Curls, or Straighten your hair.If you want, you can braid your hair at the back of your head.Make sure the braids hang straight down.
Step 2: The headband should be placed over your ears.
Pick your headband up, put it over your head, and make sure it touches the bottom of your skull.Keep the headband over your ears and on top of your forehead so that it won't slip off as you wear it throughout the day.Under the headband, keep your hair loose. Most knitted headbands are thick, so they shouldn't slip off.A lot of movement throughout the day can sometimes knock them loose.
Step 3: You can rake up the hair on the crown of your head with your fingers.
A heavy knitted headband can pull your hair against your head.To give yourself some volume, gently pull some of the hair on top of your head up towards the ceiling, using your fingers.Flyaways can be created if you pull whole strands out.Take off your headband if you pull too much hair. This will cause your hair to grow back.
Step 4: Make sure your hair doesn't bunch up on top by keeping an eye on it.
Knitted headbands have a tendency to move around and shift, which can cause the top of your hair to bunch up.As you wear your headband, bring a small mirror with you to check your hair.If you want to prevent flyaways, you can spray the top of your hair with a thin layer of hairspray.
Step 5: Attach a clip to your crown of hair.
Pull back the top part of your hair just above your ears.Put this hair into a loose bun and secure it with a large hair clip.If you want, you can leave hair on your ears.
Step 6: Wrap the headband around your head.
Pick up your headband and place it on your head the way you normally would, with the front over your forehead and the back resting against the base of your skull.Try not to disturb anything that is tied up, and be careful around the hair clip in your hair. There is a tendency for knitted headbands to catch on the ends.If you rip or stretch your headband, use caution around your hair clip.
Step 7: Allow your hair to fall from the clip.
Make sure your hair doesn't fall over the back of your head. After using the clip, you should use your fingers to separate clumps of hair.If you want, you can leave half of your hair pinned up and switch out your clip for some pins.
Step 8: If you don't adjust your hair, it will fall over the headband.
Use your fingers or a wide-toothed comb to push your hair over the headband. You can use a mirror to look at the back of your head. The back of the headband should be hidden by this.
Step 9: The headband should be placed around your neck.
It is easier to complete this look if the headband is up over your head.Pull the headband over your head so that it rests on your neck.
Step 10: Pull your hair up into a bun or ponytail.
To get your hair back to the crown, use your fingers.Your hair should be secured at the top of your head with a hair tie.
Step 11: The headband needs to be moved around the back of your head.
If you want to wear the headband in a different way, grab it from around your neck.Make sure that your hair goes over the back of the headband. You may not be able to see your hair behind the headband if it isn't up high enough.
Step 12: You can frame your face by grabbing some hair from underneath the headband.
If you want to get a little bit more face framing, reach up under your headband and grab a few strands of hair in front of your ears. They hang down and frame your face if you pull them out from under the headband. This works well with the messy hairstyle.
