The Internet can be used to learn how to do things.Writing tutorials can be a great way to get hits and be seen by people around the world because there is a large audience of people interested in learning from the Internet.Keep your instructions clear and specific. You can become an internet celebrity if you do that.
Step 1: Fix the problem.
If you are interested in something or want to know how to do it, it is likely that someone else is interested as well.Write about some interesting topics.
Step 2: Take a look at the existing tutorials.
It is a good idea to pick a topic that hasn't been written about a lot.Look online to see what other people are doing. You can either use a different perspective or spin the subject on its head. The more specific you make it, the less likely it is to be duplicated. For example, if you want to make brownies with peanut butter cups in the batter, you should write a tutorial about that.
Step 3: It's a good idea to narrow your topic.
It will be hard to cover everything important if your topic is too broad. Many people will lose interest because they need to wade through material that isn't relevant to what they're interested in.If you have a broad topic, try to narrow it down.If you want to learn how to insert chapter breaks in a Word document, instead of writing a tutorials, you should write one.
Step 4: It should be short and simple.
Don't use big words. The reader must be able to quickly skim the article to get the point.Do not give the chemical name for the type of soap and go through a list of alternative soaps and why they don't work as well.
Step 5: Give a description of each step.
Don't let the details go to waste. Each step should be described clearly and precisely.Don't leave anything to the imagination.
Step 6: Instructions can be written in a friendly tone.
Pretend that you are talking to a friend. You don't want to sound like you are talking down to the reader or that you're smarter than them. When speaking to someone, make your writing sound natural. It is likely someone is trying to learn about the topic. If you want to avoid using technical jargon, say something like "write useful notes in the margin" instead of "enumerate analytical and thematic observations on adjacent pieces of the text."
Step 7: You should credit your sources.
It is possible that some of the material in your video is protected by a copyrighted work.If you use images, information, or other materials from another source, you need to credit that source. There are ethical implications of taking credit for someone else's work, images, and/or ideas.
Step 8: Pictures or videos should be included.
If you have pictures or videos of what you are doing, it will be easier to follow your directions.Good illustrations can be found in Screenshots.Have an image for each step.To take a picture, press the Print screen. You can use a photo editing program to clean them up.You can write additional directions on the image with some programs. You can point out a button the reader should press. You can use an open source program to make a video.Show your audience more than just your face if you are filming a video. You should include screen shots, pictures, or images of you physically performing the task that will help your viewer visualize the process.
Step 9: Provide more than one method.
There are several ways to do things. If people have trouble with one method, they have other options. It's a good idea to make it clear how to complete the task.
Step 10: Give some examples.
It is important to give examples that will help you understand what you are saying.Don't let your article become bloated with examples so that it becomes long or bulky. If you are writing a guide about how to introduce yourself to new people, you could give a few examples of what you would say.
Step 11: Why does the subject matter?
People are more likely to read your article if they know what it can do.The benefits of learning the skill should be explained in the introduction. If you are explaining a photo processing program, tell the reader some of the fun things it can do with pictures.
Step 12: There is a quiet spot where you can record a video.
If you are doing a video, make sure to record it in a quiet place. It is ideal to have a basement that is far away from traffic.
Step 13: Speak slowly and clearly.
It's important that you don't speak fast. The quicker you speak, the easier it is for your viewers to understand you.You should clearly say your words.
Step 14: Write a title.
The title should tell you what the tutorial is about. If you left out Microsoft Word, the title would not be precise enough and the reader wouldn't know which program you were working with.Consider the title "How to insert footnotes, endnote, references, and citations in Microsoft Word." Footnotes and endnotes are all types of references.A short title would be "How to insert references in Microsoft Word."
Step 15: An introduction should be written.
A quick paragraph is where you clearly tell the reader what you are writing about.Explain the purpose of this subject to them.Try to make them excited. It is possible to include a picture at the end of the introduction. If you give the reader an idea of what they are working toward, they will be more excited about the tutorials.
Step 16: Clear steps are included.
The steps should be brief and clear. You should include a picture that shows each step.Don't leave anything to imagination.
Step 17: There are complicated steps.
Do you think it would be better to split the step up into two separate steps? You should be able to describe each step in a sentence.Multiple short steps is better than one long one.Make it clear to the reader if multiple steps should occur at the same time by keeping the chronological order in mind.
Step 18: Practice what you preach.
Follow your own instructions after you finish.Do each step.Do you need to do anything else besides the step to finish the project?Add that step to your video.
Step 19: The FAQ section should be written.
Adding more information without disrupting the flow of your steps is possible with a "frequently asked questions" section. If there are any terms or subjects that are not obvious to all readers, consider them.Discuss this in the FAQ section if you think so.If your task involves using a computer program the reader might not know about, you can use the FAQ section to point them to where they can download the program.Ask someone to follow your instructions and see if they have any questions at the end. They should include the questions and answers in the FAQ section.
Step 20: Follow the same outline.
If you are making a video, you need to have a draft. You will most likely go off topic if you wing it.You should have an introduction and several clearly defined steps. It's possible that you want to explain questions your audience might have.
Step 21: As you review the tutorials, think about your audience.
Who are you following? Is it meant for beginners or advanced users?Consider what additional information your audience needs.
Step 22: Make changes to your article.
The best writer needs to read a piece several times.Try to set the article aside for a few days so that you can look at it again.Check for the basics. The tutorials should flow logically and be easy to understand. If another person can spot typos, consider having them look at your tutorial. If there is anything else you need to add, they can tell you.
Step 23: You can publish your tutorial.
You can either publish it on your website or on a website. You can make a video if you want to.
Step 24: Continue revising.
Just because it is published doesn't mean you are done. There are more ways to improve on your article once you get feedback.Pay attention to the comments and consider where you can add or subtract.
