Step 1: You can research career options at the UN.

Step 2: Decide which staff category you want to pursue.
Each of the UN careers requires a specific educational background and area of expertise.Different levels of work experience are required in different jobs.Decide which category and level is appropriate for you based on your skills, interest and experience.There are options for professional and higher categories, general service, and related categories.
Step 3: It's important that you have the required education and experience.
There are specific education and experience requirements for each career option.Before you apply for a job, make sure you have all the qualifications.If you don't, your application will not be considered.Many positions at the UN require that you be proficient in English or French.It's helpful to have a good knowledge of additional languages, particularly Arabic, Chinese, Spanish, or Russian.A degree higher than a bachelor's degree.Most positions in the UN require at least a bachelor's degree, but some lower-level general service jobs only require a high school degree.Advanced degrees in the area of specialty are required for many specialist positions.Work experience in a field.Depending on the position for which you are applying, you might need between 1 and 7 years of work experience.

When you register, you will be prompted to create aPHP.Information about you, your education, and your employment history will be included in this profile.If you want, you can change it for different vacancies.You can either complete it immediately or come back later.It will take between 30 minutes to one hour to complete, and you can save a partially completed profile at any time and return to finish it.Make sure that yourPHP is thorough, detailed, accurate, and picture perfect.The first thing the recruiter will see when you apply for a position is the PHP.If you don't do a good job of representing your qualifications, your application will be rejected.When you apply for a listed vacancies, make sure your PHP is in perfect condition, because you can continue to update it at any time.
Step 7: Pick the job you're applying for.
If you don't meet the requirements, either the recruiter will overlook it or you will not apply.If you apply for positions for which you are not qualified, your credibility will be hurt because the UN website makes it clear that you can apply as many times as you want.

Step 13: If you want a job, apply.
You have to choose a job labeled "YPP Examination" as a YPP candidate.You can choose a job family that you're interested in.If you want to apply for a job, you need to fill out the correct combination of the Main Course of Study and the field of study.You can only apply for the exam.Click "Apply Now" to submit your application after completing the forms.To submit the application, you will need to answer a few screening questions and agree with the terms.An email will be sent to confirm that your application was received.You will either be invited to take the examination or told you are not eligible after your application is evaluated.
Step 14: Take the test.
You will be invited to take the written examination if you are eligible.It lasts 4 1/2 hours and consists of two parts, the General Paper and the Specialized Paper, which test your knowledge on your specific area of expertise.You will be invited to take the oral examination if you pass the test.
Step 15: Take the exam in oral form.
The Specialized Board conducts an interview to determine if you have the skills and behaviors required for the jobs within the job family you're applying for.You will be contacted by the Central Examinations Board after the exam to find out if you can participate in YPP.
Step 16: The Central Examinations Board gives endorsement.
The YPP job roster will be endorsed by the Central Examinations Board if your interview is successful.You will be offered a job when it becomes available.An endorsement doesn't mean you'll get a job.Getting an offer is dependent on job availability in your family.If you don't get an endorsement after your interview, you'll be contacted by the Central Examinations Board.
