The paper is thick and feels like a printer paper. The craft store has a lot of different colors. You can use one kind of paper for the whole thing or choose a different one for every page.Pick out paper with your color scheme in mind. You might be able to find something for Mother's Day.If you picked the paper part, skip it.
Step 4: There are stickers, stamps and other decorations for the pages.
There are lots of neat stickers to choose from in the scrapbooking section. There are a lot of things you can pick from. You can find premade packs with all the stickers you need. There are items and decorations that fit your mom's interests. The decorations should be based on the theme of the family. Some of those are ink stamps.Don't forget the ink pad.If you're using one, stick to your color scheme.
Step 5: Take photos for the project.
Look through old photo albums. There are many pictures to choose from, including family photos, baby pictures, vacation pictures and school pictures.Don't forget to take a few candid photos as well. All of your family members should be included in the images. You don't want anyone to feel left out.Balance the number of casual and event photos is a good idea. The number of photos you use depends on the size of your book.At least half of the pages should be filled with photos.Put the older photos back where you got them by scanning them into your computer. The photographs will be protected. The images can be printed.Digital images can be printed on nice photo paper.
Step 6: It's a good idea to gather things to put in the book.
There are things like concert tickets, programs from school plays, finger paintings you made in preschool, recipe cards of delicious meals your mom makes, and souvenirs from family vacations. It can take up about a quarter of your space. If you want to leave room for poems and other special things, you should place more emphasis on photos. You could put flowers in the book. You should choose flowers that are flat on the page, like daisies, clover flowers, and so on.You should avoid roses and other large flowers.
Step 7: Take a look at Mother's Day poems and quotes.
They can be typed into the computer and printed on the pages. You can search for "Mother's Day Poems" and find a lot of options.Pick a few that make you think of your mom.Ask your family members to help you pick.If you put your favorite one on the first page, it will stand out.If you have more than one, place them throughout the pages.Once you find the one you want, you can print it out.
Step 8: A special paragraph about your mom can be written by family members.
This will help make the memories stick. They can write about their favorite memories, what your mother has done to make them happy, or what they love about her.Give them a piece of paper to write on.Tell them to use notebook paper to practice.Don't forget to write your own paragraph as well.
Step 9: Divide your materials into separate piles.
You can tackle one page at a time if you get organized.Your family members can help you decide which photos will appear in the book. There should be separate piles of materials for each page. The pages can be based on a decade, child, hobby, vacation or other important topic in their life. It's up to you!
Step 10: The pages of the book should be assembled.
The elements will appear on each page.Attach your elements to the page with either double sided tape or glue.Add the "Vacation" and "Holidays" stickers to the pages if you bought them.At the top of each page, you can write your own titles with a nice marker. If you used glue, give each page plenty of time to dry.Place the pages between large heavy books for about an hour to flatten them out.
Step 11: There are stickers and stamps on each page.
The fun part will come soon. You can use the stickers and other stuff at the craft store to decorate each page.Don't add so much that the photos, poems, and memorabilia are obscured, but get as creative as you want with the decorations.
